Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

And also my top wont go down now, it worked fine before now it just goes all the way up and then half way down and just stops.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have a 02 996 C4. And when i try to turn on the stereo it tells me to wait and it stays like that forever and makes no noise. And also my top wont go down now, it worked fine before now it just goes all the way up and then half way down and just stops. And ideas? Thanks

POST 2Original post

When you see wait it is usually because the wrong radio code has been entered too many times. Has power to the radio been disconnected, and has someone tried to enter a code?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

yes i did have to enter the radio code and i eneterd the correct one. Is there a way to reset it or anything? I tried disconnecting the battery.

POST 4Original post

It is covered in the radio manual. From my memory. If the incorrect code is entered 3 times then you have to keep the key and the radio turned on for one hour before you can try the code again. You should have a card with the code for your radio. If you bought the car used it has been know to be given the wrong code. The code card has the radio serial number on it so you can check to see if the card belongs to your radio. To check the serial number you push and hold the TP button until you see BECKER on the display. Then turn the right **** 2 clicks and the serial number will be displayed. Compare it to the number on the card. But I am not sure if you can get the serial number while the radio is in the theft mode.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

awesome, thanks for your help, no idea on the roof huh? Maybe something to do with disconnecting the battery????

POST 6Original post

roof as in CAB? If you are reffering to CAB then one possibility is the microswitch for the e-brake. Very common. Does the BRAKE light illuminate on the dash (and stay on)?
