Nice...looks like you're getting all sorts of action with the new ride--remember to use protection or you might get dust or spiderwebs on your junk.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi, all..
Another long-time wannabe, first time owner here. The twist is, I bought the car from Tom in CT, another Rennlister (see "Very Sad Day...F/S '04 CS4 Cab" a few pages back).
First things first... Tom is a great guy, and I would encourage any of you to consider giving him as good a deal as you can, when he is ready to re-enter the world of Porschedom. (Because, he ain't gettin' THIS one back!
)
Second, given the rather unusual circumstances, I think I'm going to need a ruling on pictures. Seems a little repetitively redundant to post the same car under a new banner, doesn't it? Since I live in Las Vegas, can I just photoshop Tom's Connecticut backgrounds out of his pics and artificially place the car in front of a casino or a house of ill repute? Are you listening, Tim?
I need answers!
Lastly, it seems that I was woefully unprepared for the first question that everyone wants to ask the new P-car owner.."What's your vanity plate going to be?" I hadn't given it much thought. I'm partial to "GR8 BG DK", but the wife thinks that I might run afoul of the Truth-in-Advertising laws.
She suggests "CMPNS8N" (compensating) but, incredibly, it's already taken! Apparently, she's not the ONLY smart-aleck wife in the state of Nevada!
So, let me have it... what is your plate, and may I steal it if necessary?
AV,
Congrats! My vote would be for new pics of the old car in the new environment... Redundancy isn't a bad thing and if this is your first, you shouldn't get cheated out of all the joys of new ownership! (If some weird quirk of the universe resulted in Shania Twain (or Nicole Kidman or, or, or...) being my next significant other you can bet your *** there will be a whole new set of pictures out there...
I thought about the vanity plate thing too... but the good ones I thought of were all taken (I really liked "HI HO AG")... so I'm still without. Don't be shy about sharing your plate when you get to it...
We're down here in San Diego... the wife was thinking about taking the p-car on our next trip to your town (now that gas is cheaper and airfare isn't - I don't know how she does it, but she always gets these free room offers... this one came with a New Year's party attached to it)... but I think a five hour drive is a bit long for cars like ours...
Welcome and congratulations again!
Rudy

Damn guys... I like this Newbie already..... and you know THAT doesn't happen often!
First off, Welcome to Rennlist and Congrats on getting the P-car! OK, now that we got all of that "nice ****" out of the way, down to the business of pics!
I will have to say that was a valiant effort about re-posting Tom's pics. But I have conferred with myself and have decided that virgin of the car pics are required. You will notice that I said "virgin pics of the car" and not "pics of virgins and the car" as I think that latter may be an impossible task in Vegas!
Again, Welcome to the Phunny Pharm!
Ok, Ok, I get it... new pics required. Here she is, in a local park after having the cross-country trip washed off. The long drive was a blast! I got to visit/show off with my daughter in New Hampshire, my son in Ohio, and with my new best friend in Arizona... that would be the state trooper who, after finding out that this was my "always-wanted-one" car, and that I'd only owned it a few days, let me off with only a warning for my "86-in-a-75-zone" transgression. His parting words were "Enjoy the car... but try not to enjoy it quite so much in MY state!"
Oh, and one more for you pervs who wanted to see the Las Vegas babes. Please remember that times are tough everywhere, so I couldn't afford the really hot ones.....
Late, but not too late!!
Welcome aboard!! - I saw the pics at work and laughed quite hard! That is great... enjoy the car and keep the humor and good spirits flowing.
Ed
AV,
Wow - nice looking car. I really like the calipers, the red sort of jumps out at you, which is good.
Congrats again and welcome to the neighborhood!

Congrats, Jim, on a great looking car....looks just like the one in my Avitar....oh wait, that's right, I sold it. :-(
AV8R is a fantastic addition to this forum....and please remember and honor his request to cut me a good deal when I'm ready to get back into a Porsche.....
For now, just a fly on the wall - Tom in CT
Congrats on the C4S!!!
Just make sure the plate is something you can live with. I never had one until I got my C4S, then I said - why not. It screams enough in Speed Yellow, what harm can a plate do?
As you can tell - I like to ski! (For the non-skiers it's "Bump Skier"
Smooth and steady. I actually didn't become a bump/tree skier until my late 20's. Then I joined ski patrol and learned to be a much better skier.
Now, quickly approaching 40 (less than a year away), I can still do a zipper line down a mogul run if I needed to, but would prefer some nice quick turns on some short flexible ski through the bumps.
Congrats....................I am moving out your way in next couple of weeks.
Let me know about any of the "spirited" drives you find. Maybe we can get together for a ride someday.
Again, congrats and enjoy the finest machine a man can afford.
There is no subsistute!!!
Beautiful C4S Cab in silver. Wonderful looking machine. Enjoy it!! It's 24 degrees here in the Philly burbs this morning and
I actually took mine out for a ride!

Tim!! What a great car. I don't want a repeat of the sulfating battery disaster that I experienced last winter this season - so I pledge to take it out every couple of weeks during the winter and run it up to operating temperature. It ran like the middle of summer! And Tim, no cracks from you that in the middle of summer it just sat and sat in my garage!
Phil - Is there salt...on the underside of your car?? Can it be?? You don't have a head injury of some kind do you? Even I didn't venture out due to all the salt on the roads today!
I've never even eaten a soft pretzel in my car - there's zero salt anywhere on or in the car! Our roads were completely clear last weekend - northern Jersey got some, we didn't. Now, there's some salt from this week's ice, so it sleeps until the roads are clear again.
Welcome aboard! Great car....you'll never get bored of it...especially if you take it back up North and do some great donuts in the snow with the PSM off....total blast. I can't resist them when time and space (empty parking lots with nice powder snow) exist.....love love love it.
