With the following evidence, I would recommend Tim to consider putting more "performance" stickers on his Accord, do Lambo doors, and "tune" it up a notch after a visit to Pep Boys as a means to attract more talent...

Well, to put a little positive spin on the situation, you could post repair bills for Honda vs.

But Tim what about the oil on the Honda, will the use of 0-40W destroy the engine as it does on the 996's?

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Well, unfortunately for
both of you
, and fortunately for the other gazillion Rennlist members, this is not that comparison.
However, I did want to list all of the features on the Honda that are better than the 996.
Stereo control buttons on the steering wheel.

OK, that just about sums it up. Next topic?
Indeed Jake's contribution really sums it all up.
But Tim what about the oil on the Honda, will the use of 0-40W destroy the engine as it does on the 996's?
More for Honda:
Honda has 5 person total seating capacity. 996 has 3 person total (i.e. 2 in the front and 2 halves of 1 in the back).
Honda has simulated alloy trim on dash. 996 only has simulated carbon fiber or simulated wood.
Honda has rear cupholders. 996--- what are those?
Yes, but the Honda is dependable and trustworthy. You can work it to death and it will not complain. You can dress it up with bling to make it look nice and then use it till the lube goes dry.
When it gets old and doesn't look so nice, then you can buy a nice set of covers to dress it up again so that you don't see the ugliness and wear underneath.
Tim, I actually the like the looks of the Accord coupe. Much better than the previous generation. Good gas mileage, cheap maintenance, extreme reliability ... why all the hating?
Hi Tim!
Well, to put a little positive spin on the situation, you could post repair bills for Honda vs. Porsche. . .
[we have a Toyota too. Don't even know the service manager. Porsche service is on speed dial]
I think you can add a few more things to your list Tim!
No engine noise
No ignition key location confusion issues
Glove compartment
Cup holders
Moon roof
Park it anywhere without worry
Gas mileage
Decent sounding stereo
Biggest con - It's not a Porsche!
No engine noise - that's for sure, do they even have horse power ratings? That noise you are not hear is = to the power you are missing
No ignition key location confusion issues - umm, how do you mean? OH the other side... I thought the key was SO BIG you couldn't loose it, or maybe when you whistle it beeps at you.
Glove compartment - Tim, You got gloves? Sh*t that thing is just a place for wife's to hide sh*t while you are not looking... brushes, make-up, napkins... then they want to use it while driving!!
Cup holders - Dont drink and drive, this is a no brainer.
Moon roof - I saw a moon in Tim's earlier post... little guy, pants down
Park it anywhere without worry - This is silly, The Honda has a higher theft rating than almost anything on the planet. That and in the sea of mall cars, they all look like a white Honda... no worry, take the closest one??
Gas mileage - P-cars get gas milage too, heck even my Suburban gets gas milage... silly reason
Decent sounding stereo - Porsche stereo's dont sound good because no one wants to listen to anything other than that beautiful flat 6 out back.
Hate to be a pooper Tim, Its a great car, but who cares
(I hope you know I am just busting your chops a bit, surely no hurtful comments intended)
I keep hoping I will forget where I park it, but alas, I always remember and unfortunately it is always there when I get back.
I really hate seeing it in my driveway.
Before I get branded as a snob....just for the record, I do like the looks of the new Accord coupe, but I like my P car better...and here is why...just for the boys
I am not so sure...
I mean there are a lot more Accords to take pictures with AND many of the people "wiling" to take the type of pictures we are talking about are just regular people. So it stands to reason that there might be more pictures of girls and Honda's then with P-cars or other exotics
Tim ? Are you holding out on us ?
Sorry Tim...
And BTW I don't mean to offend anyone with a Subaru or Subaru fans... Hey at least most of their cars have real boxer engines, they kick butt at rallies, and with the right skills they can be butt magnets as well...
With the following evidence, I would recommend Tim to consider putting more "performance" stickers on his Accord, do Lambo doors, and "tune" it up a notch after a visit to Pep Boys as a means to attract more talent...
No problem!!!
BTW - the blond in the center can have her way with me as many times as she wants!!!
I sure am glad that the girl in my pic (post # 43) wasn't wearing a thong!
True!
BTW - you should have seen the look on the guy's face at the body shop when I told him that the two massive dents on my trunk lid were cheek marks!
Oh... and I almost forgot another advantage of the Accord is that when you actually get the attention, you can carry all of it with you... no need to be unecessarily choosy and leave prospects behind... as the evidence shows here... And assuming that you're into that stuff...
Here's and additional point in favor of the 996. Without the need of "visual" enhancements, the 996 looks arguably better from the back than the Accord.
do do do do
do do do do...
Hello?
I was on the 996 Forum, but ended up on the Honda Forum. How do I get back?
Wait! I stay up late and watch those SpeedTV shows about modified Japanese cars. What is that show? NOPI Nationals? Wait! Don't they always have the hottest chics at their meets in skimpy nothing swim suits?
Well, my 2007 Honda Civic EX coupe may not win a show, but it might get me into the pits at the show without being stoned. Wait I AM stoned! I drive a giant weiner!
^^^^
Yes, I agree this thread is getting a bit confusing... Imagine if someone started talking about the benefits that an Audi could bring?
Imagine that!
I'm telling you give your car more "performance" with stickers, paint it in a funky color scheme, put some aerodynamic reducing wings and spoilers... and you'll have so much "talent" around you won't know what to with it!
Now I'm REALLY getting confused.... Initially I was learning how the benefits of having a white Accord Coupe EX-L outweigh a 996's... and started to seriously consider gedtting rid of my 996 and join Tim's club. Then I learned that Subarus and Audis aren't too shabby and can bring talent (and some serious oversteer in some cases).... Now it looks like I have to look into speed bikes, fireplaces and cheap beer (nothing wrong with that BTW
) Decisions...decisions... decisions....
OK guys... put away the latest issue of
Sport Compact Car
...
p.s. Is there a thread on the 996 forum that has
NOT
"degenerated" into a sexy pic thread? (not that I'm complainin'!)
