Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I was in my local stealership yesterday and noticed the huge front calipers on the cayenne has any one considered using these on a 996, they may be a problem being leading edge and not trailling.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 3Original post

you might want to consider something better and more importantly lighter- stoptech or brembo

I was in my local stealership yesterday and noticed the huge front calipers on the cayenne has any one considered using these on a 996, they may be a problem being leading edge and not trailling. I'm sure if it was possible they would be incredible stopping performance

POST 5Original post

The Cayenne calipers are side-mount while the rest of late model P-cars are axial mount, so definetely some fabrication would be needed. I would imagine that less attention was given to weight optimization for the Cayenne brakes, so they probably weigh a ton.

POST 6Original post

ditto what spr said. you use your existing wheel calipers with a stoptech or brembo setup. an adapter is used to accommodate the 355mm rotors. the rotors are also two piece floating with an aluminum hat so it will be lighter than a solid one piece rotor of equivalent size. the stoptech rotors are really kewl. the cooling fins are supposedly the most efficient.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
