Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

My battery died this weekend - weird way of showing it -when I tried to start the car all the lights flashed and the windows would go up and down about an inch real quickly and there was this fast clicking sound. Jumped the battery and car started fine, but without jumping same reaction. Anyhow I called my local p car place and was quoted $230.00 for a porsche replacement battery -ouch!. Called Brandywine and they suggested using an interstate MTP 91, for $120.00 but can't ship batteries b/c hazardous. A search of mtp 91 on rennlist yielded some info from several years ago. Any one recommend that one or another battery for my 01 c2 . Thanks.
Hi rxinc,
Don't waste yoru time (sorry Loren...) with any other battery than an Optima "ret top". Use the rennlist search engine and search on "optima battery install". There's a bit of work to do and it costs about $50 more but the benefits are:
1) Car loses weight
2) No need for venting
3) Saftey
4) AJ USA (rennlist sponsor) will ship one to you. (not affiliated, just happy customer).
There are installation instructions you'll find in your search. Dont' sweat it, seriously, if I could do this install, anyone could do it. PM me if you need tips in additon.
Cheers.
You guys covered the case of wanting "lowest cost" or "best performance". Let me throw in a 3rd - "fastest fix" ....when my battery died last week I jumped it and drove straight to Sears, where for $120 and just 30 minutes I was back up and going. The bigger hassle was waiting until Monday to call the dealer to get the radio code. Sears also sells / installs the Optima battery, though I didn't go for it.
Loren, the optima will be cheaper! In that, no venting means no possible way the battery tray will ever get damaged (saving $$)and a lighter car means better gas milage... :-) All total, I had an optima battery dropped on my front doorstep for about $115.
redcab, just a tip, mos of our cars have the radio code handwritten in ink on the options label under the front hood. I always would dig for the "credit card" with the code imprint before someone told me that tip. Check your car, I'm curious about how globally valid this tip is...
