Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Also, is anyone familiar with Gaudin Porsche, as I am guessing that is where I would have the PPI done.
Thanks in advance,
Sean
EDIT; that is a decent deal. Yes...you must do a PPI, and if the local porsche shop is familiar with the owner, you might want to find an indy to do it. The dents might cost a bit to repair. If the paintwork is something that you can't notice, and work is great quality, I wouldn't be too bothered.

OK - another question. Gaudin is familiar with the car, but did not do a 30k service on it. The current owner has only had the car a couple of months (<1k miles) and does not know if the previous owner may have done the 30K at an indy to save $. Is there any way for Gaudin to tell during the PPI if the 30k service was ever done? If it was not done and the car now has 43k - I'm guessing that is bad even though the car has warranty until 9/2008.
My advice is only to pull the trigger if you are truly at peace with the decision. Don't let us or anyone else talk you into a car that isn't your dream car. If this isn't it, wait it out until your perfect car comes along. I am very picky and will search months and sometimes years for the proper color combination/options.
Put the screws to this guy and get him to cut the price to 35k. If he has to dump it after a month he will be willing to negotiate. Get a good inspection cause the history is rather squirrely.
Maybe. The owner might have foreclosured on their house, lost their job, prefer to get a new 997 after driving the 996 for a month. As long as the excuse is reasonable, the car looks fine. Indeed, I wouldn't even sweat the dent; it's not that bad. If the PPI comes back clean, car looks pretty nice.
Well... I had the PPI don at Carl's place and the car checked out. There is a small amount of RMS leakage, but after reading the forums I was not overly concerned. In the end the owner had never registered the car in his name and was "skipping title" to avoid tax???, which does not work for me since i was going to borrow money to buy. If anyone is looking to buy with cash this may not be a bad deal, and I can pass on the PPI I paid for. Thanks for all of the useful input.
My p-car was originally from Vegas and it was serviced at Gaudin off W. Sahara for the majority of its life. They had all the service records in the computers over there, also they were very helpful with the PPI. I would recommend them as they did a thorough analysis with a faxed document outlining the results and also spoke with me over the phone for a while.
There is also a great all-you-can-eat sushi place a block over if you go down there yourself.
