Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
22 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

I've decided to go with the Supercharger route. I just got my car back last week from Orin and he did quite a few mods
I fixed and replaced my seals (the dreaded RMS seal was the culprit), but everything looked ok in there so I had them do the following mods:
Sachs LW flywheel and HD clutch (600-700 ft/lbs. rating!), billet shift linkage, new seals, and Fabspeed 200 cell sport cats.
Dropped about 50 pounds and the car is a little more powerful and revs faster. It is noticably quicker thanks mostly to the weight savings and faster revs/cleaner shifting. Would definitely recommend his shop.
I'm looking at adding Pagi (sp?) racing brake pads and Euro GT3 f&r sway bars by next spring (still half life on current pads). I also am still deciding when to do the blower (EVOMS I/C supercharger with the programmer and fabrication for a second air inlet to cool it), but its coming....
I'm probably going to get my Hayabusa Motorcycle first and wait til next spring for the upgrade, but its good to have to make these decisions, wife is behind me all the way!
BTW I decided I loved (and everyone close to me as well) the convertible too much and the $80,000+ price tag for the turbo cab is silly expensive for me. Plus the HP/WT ratio once I put on the blower is equal to a X50 turbo coupe, so its an easy choice now. I know the turbo is a better car, but the engine, transmission, etc. are twice the cost if they do go and I'd spend just as much and more on mods once I got the turbo (I know me!)
Plus I love "sleepers"
Thank you all again for the great advice and support. I'll update when I get around to supercharging it. I can't imagine the speed, considering how fast it is, and feels/sounds!, now!
Rennlist is a great site!
The 1300 will definitely cure your need for speed untill next spring, actually just throw a Mr. Turbo on the busa and you will forget all about the P-Car
this is going to be fun..... i am getting the evo kit stage 2....... i think this is the one with the re map giac ecu and a smaller pulley....... alll going in my 3.4 cab......
im suppose to get the new stage 2 one that they are experimenting with... they said it will add about 25 more hp..... so with my headers, exhaust (stock cats), and ipd plenum, they said i should be looking at 400 hp at the wheel..... but i haven't seen anything yet.... VF starts next week on my car......i'll keep you posted....
Wow, that is really good. My '87 makes around 430 to the wheels and weighs 2750 bs. Being that the 996 weighs a tad more but will have torque down low, that thing should be a beast!!!
thanks.... i can't wait.. i don't know anything about he torque yet... but i assume it should be just a little bit higher then stage 1.......1 month is when i get my car back... i turned it in as a 99 cab, lowered on jic, ipd plenum, headers, exhaust........ in about a month, i will see an 02 facelift with turbo front, mk II sides, turbo rear nb, and hopefully and eingine that will leave me breathless......... DAMN....... I CAN"T WAIT!!!!!! hands sweating right now......
Orin does a great job, and comes highly recommended from other people on this board. I take my car there for all of the maintenance stuff I can not do.
Porsche_Smile and all. Thanks for the responses and support. I've been away for a bit and just got back (work).
Let me know how that Evo 2 system works, I'll ask Orin about that system also.
To answer the 3.4SC = 3.6tt + X50 question: I won't really know until I get it done! (unfortunately). However, I was refering to HP to WT ratio only. The tt is heavier and the Cabrio heavier still. So the 420HP/3300# (my car has lost some weight and has the faster flywheel) is vs either 420/3500 (tt coupe) or 444/3650ish (tt cab), making for a very slight advantage in HP to WT vs a COMPLETELY stock 996tt
If they mod it, that's what the Hayabusa will be for!!
Thanks again everyone and I'll be trolling for that response about the 400WHP (!!!) EVOMS kit! What is the difference, just a smaller pulley and different tune? I'll probably be conservative and stay with the 6 PSI "gen 1" kit, but I'm dying to know. It'll be August (at the earliest) for me before I "pull the switch".
Oops! I must be tired. Guess that answers my question on the gen 2 EVOMS SC....
I'll hang out and wait to hear how she turned out! I'm sure it's going to be an awsome machine when its done (not that they aren't to start with!)
The EVOMS SC kit with everything is $10,000. Orin (at Eurosport) gave me an estimate of about another $3,000 to install, tune (with seperate programmable tuner for different octane levels), and fabricate a 2nd air inlet (like the one already in the hood, just on the other side also) to feed cool air to the intake...
So about $13,000 total. For the "stage 1" 420 HP version. I have to wait a couple months anyway, so I'm going to be seeing about this 450ish? HP stage 2 I'm hearing about. May wait for that one!
FYI Orin was telling me that he thinks EVOMS is going to be honoring the 10k price til the end of the year... so we'll see. Everything he/I said is "unofficial", of course, but Orin has been great to his word, work, and estimates so far...
And also, yeah my Wife is very supportive! Can't wait to convert the car AND get the motorcycle!
once i get mine in..... i'll let you know the price i got it for.... btw i am having VF putting it in...... why not have the people who makes the kit put it in huh.....?
