Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'Use unless you want' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Use unless you want' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

The car got loaded onto the truck today. It's on its way to Kansas City. Should have it in 2 days. ASG in Fairfax, VA did the PPI and went above and beyond in helping me get the car shipped.
Here are the details: 2002 C4S lapis blue w/ gray interior. High miles (82k) but the price was right and it passed PPI with flying colors. It's been driven but well cared for. I'm not sure about the wing. I'm also getting the OEM engine cover. Anyone need a Guards Red 993?
Very nice Congrats! Great color, I'm not biased in any way!
First two mods: 1) clear side markers, 2) aluminum gauge rings. Both can he purchased from Eric at BumperPlugs.com.
Yeah, I'm not a big fan of the BAW. (Big assed wing)
A wing on a Carrera is like **** on a bull. Not much use unless you want to go flying.
(yes dell, I know, they're useful on a track car)
WRT the RUF badge - who knows, hopefully we'll get more info. Doesn't look like a RUF, nor cost as much as a RUF, so that leads you to assume....
Yup! Gotta agree there.
On the track they're amazing. On the street they're overkill... hence the reason I can't bring myself to put a taco wing on my car.
The prior owner put the badges and BAW on it. Both are coming off. I figure the car is worth $1000 more without them. First owner was from Chicago and put almost all the miles on it. Second owner was from Virginia and put maybe 6000 miles on it in a year. I am getting 9 months of the remaining warranty on it as well.
Good call. You have a beautiful car and it looks like the previous owner loved it also.
I think that you're making the right call in pulling off the wing - the C4S has classic lines that don't need the wing. Certainly the car will be worth more to those that know Porsche if you take off the bling.
Congrats...and welcome to the "dark side". Can't wait to hear about your comparisions...inkuiring minds want to know.
BTW....I'm pretty sure your model and year was the best that Porsche ever built. haha.

Congratulations! I made the same move about 2 years ago going from a Guards red 993 to a Lapis blue 9964S and have really enjoyed the car. I do regret getting rid of the 993 though, and recommend you keep it, if you can. They're both very different cars.
BTW, where in the KC area are you? I'll be in Overland Park next week and can possibly pop over to check out your rides.
Congratulations on the C4S. I just moved from an E46 M3 to a 996 C4S. The car is awesome! The wing looks a little big. Check out the Techart type III wing, lower in profile, so it does not take away from the Porsche lines.
Warranty is aftermarket - EasyCare. I didn't really factor it into the price.
I'm in old Leawood but I'll be out of town until 12/26.
I would love to keep both but it isn't feasible.
It just arrived. It had been 5 weeks since I had seen it in person. I forgot how nice it looked. All I need now is an owner's manual. It has the original build sheet and every other piece of paper that came with it, but inexplicably it has no owners manual.
Congratulations on a good-looking car. And to paraphrase what Tim said above, "not that I'm biased towards Lapis Blue..."
I also agree with him on going to clear side markers. It takes maybe 7 minutes total if you're really slow, but is a huge improvement.
