Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I used a set of the 15mm spacers to provide clearance for my pss9's and bbs re's.
Leading evidence: 'Use set of the 15mm spacers' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace rims out' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

The result was bumpsteer and I am changing my rims out to 02 5 spokes as a result.

But we are in 2004, so some test should be made if they want to state that "wider is better".

i've never seen club-level amateurs (pca, poc) ever use spacers.

Suggestion
The only reason to use spacers at the track is to correct a problem such as brake clearence, incorrect offset, inside rubbing, etc.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

As I am preparing my car to the track, I need to know what is the best combination of spacers.
What do you think about the 17 MM spacers for all corners? Do you think it will fit?
I am running
225 - 40 /18
285 -30 / 18
Thank you!

i have no experience with spacers, but your questions begs another. is there any evidence that they improve track performance?
i've never seen club-level amateurs (pca, poc) ever use spacers. i thought they were used to correct for wheel offset problems.

I am not into phisics, but the gereral idea is that "wider is Better". My believe is that the wider the cars, the better the center of gravity (lower) and also more centered. Does anyone here have a better explanation?

Here is some information from H&R:
TRAK+ wheel spacers move the wheel out from the hub, effectively widening the stance of the vehicle and lowering its roll center. This simple modification increases lateral stability, which in turn provides improved handling, greater safety and of course, the sleek style ....
Is this true??
The only reason to use spacers at the track is to correct a problem such as brake clearence, incorrect offset, inside rubbing, etc. Don't use them if you don't have to. They are far more likely to cause a problem than improve performance.
....2 cents worth
Jim
While the idea of making the track wider might seem like a plus, remember that the entire steering geometry would be altered, and most likely not in a positive way. I wouldn't mess with sustantially widening the track unless I REALLY knew what I was doing.
Freak,
It's called marketing. I'm pretty sure if you asked for some real world data on lap time improvements as a result of adding spacers you wouldn't get far. It's not like you will experience huge problems with 1/2 inch spacers. Just don't think you are going to improve performance. If you want to go faster there are hundred of better ways to do it.
Jim
Well, this type of marketing techinique is called propaganda, and is in fact the manipulation of information. But we are in 2004, so some test should be made if they want to state that "wider is better".
Do you know what i mean?
I used a set of the 15mm spacers to provide clearance for my pss9's and bbs re's. The result was bumpsteer and I am changing my rims out to 02 5 spokes as a result. I would rather have no bumpsteer than have 8.5" fronts-
Sean,
That's interesting. I have 9 inch rims in front and really haven't had a problem. It would be interesting to know exactly what's causing the bump steer. Do you know?
