Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Will post some pics after the Aerokit is installed with the badge.
Leading evidence: 'Install with the badge' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Install with the badge' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. Suggestion
I wouldn't install a tale just for looks even if they were giving them away in my case, it would screw up aerodinamics more than we think at these speeds, I would only install a performance intended windtunnel tested aerokit, hence the GT3 aerokit.

Either that or leave it stock, for my use anyway, but if you cannot drive regularly at these speeds (say Orlando for example) then it wouldn't matter and its OK ti fit wigs for asthetical purposes, nothing wrong with that in that case.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Which emblem should I put on my Aerokit II, which will be installed next week? "GT3", "911", "Carrera" or just leave it blank? What do people in this forum do?
Hmmm... I had this dilemma too.
I put GT3. Firstly I admit freely that its a Carrera but the GT3 kit means it has GT3 styling? So aesthetically its virtually a GT3.
Let me offer another opinion. The fact that you are putting the GT3 aerokit on the car to begin with means that you like the aesthetic of the GT3. This is not like upgrading the exhaust, shifter or even headlights or the car stereo. Let's face it - it has nothing to do with performance - it's a look. So I think the answer is, do whatever you think looks best.
Who cares what anyone else says?
fake-badging... there is just no excuse for it IMO. You should have either carrera if its a C2 or carrera4 if its a C4, not even leaving the model designation blank is acceptable IMO, unless its the top version of the model for the stealth look. I had an M3 which I removed the M3 badge of the back, tis was fun
Keep it real:
I agree but have to ask - what does that big whale tail on the back of your car have to do with keeping it real? Seems like an aesthetic flourish suggesting a GT3 to me. Does the car handle better because of it?
Bucket,
Here's a pic from Carlos' web page....
at that speed, he needs all the down force he can get. No way that tail is just for looks. He's one of the few board members who goes triple digits on almost a daily basis...ahhh the highways in Europe....
Wow...
Who's taking the pitcure? Hope it is not the driver! Someone in the back seat?
320Kms is 200 mph, right? So he's going like 184? Love to know what, if any, mods he has going on in there - I thought top speed was 170-ish...
Your car looks very nice. Looks like you went all out with the GT3 MK1 look. You're obviously free to dress up and modify your car as you see fit and you've chose a nice package. I personnally wouldn't put on a GT3 badge since you don't have the real thing. I think that a 911 badge would have looked nice.
01 C4 Cab NYC hit the nail on the head, thanks
I'm very lucky that I can hit those speeds in my commute here or just cruise above triple mph digits, the traffic quality and quantity and the great highways here allow you to really enjoy 'em and the 996
and in this highspeed twisty enviroment is were I find the 996 really really shines above other cars, you can take the curves at incredible speeds and the brakes can hold a lot more highspeed punishment.
Bucket,
The stock carrera handles superbly at high speeds already but do you think the GT3 and GT2's have aerokits for aesthetics? No, in case of the GT3 aerokit, it means lift/bouyancy is reduced to 0, and front and rear downforce is increased appropiately... so it does corner better at highway speeds. For example, take this aerokit out from the GT3Cup and see what happens at the racetrack vs the other GT3Cups. But the difference is only evident at high speeds though.
The only downside/problem with installing the aerokit on a C2 or C4 in my opinion is that it may be confused with a GT3, so thats why you need to keep the "carrera" emblem on the back.
Bucket,
Its actually not a one shot photo, its a snapshot form a video I took, since there was nobody in the car, I did it myself with the camera on one hand and driving with the other. The video is at my website.
No engine mods, just 18" wheels and the RoWM030 sport suspension for greater stability and handling.
I reached 294km/h in that short straight before I had to brake for the curve (which is about 180 inmph), but its a speedo reading so its going to be a bit less than that in reality, so you are absolutely right about the 170ish top speed. Also the aerokit, though gives you greater downforce at thyose speeds, it does so at the expense of some top speed so it may have been a bit more without the aerokit.
I saw the video last year and from what I could tell, it sure seemed like Carlos was filming and driving the car himself! I'd sure be interested in the real deal here.
Sab
This gentleman is obviously paying for your car...so he should get all the say...um no!
I am thinking of getting one that says "I HAVE A HUGE D@#$!"
that is...if its ok with you guys
back to the point...I like GT3....but also how about seeing if someone can make you one that says Aero or GT3 Aero or Carrera 2 Aero, etc
I agree that he can put whatever he is pleased with. It is his car. He gets to do whatever he wishes. Heck, he can put GT1 if he wants.
I have no badge at all but I may put something in the future. Maybe "NINE ELEVEN" if I can find where I can get one. :-)
I also agree that he can put any badge on the car he likes, but HE ASKED. No one is telling him what to do, they are giving their opinion. He asked for opinions, not permission. Opinions were given and now jumper can do what he likes with those.
oh...so let me get this straight... we can offer opinions here?...but what do i do since i know everything and was simply telling him what is obviously best??...oh no wait...i too was offering an opinion...silly me...i get confused sometimes...sorry
no doubt dell
too many shifts in a row
but non of that cognitive therapy " take responsibility ****e"...i want some nice psychotherapy so i can blame my mother for not letting me eat candy as a kid.
Ubergeek,
Looks like we have the same car. What year is it? What's on the back of yours? How about mods??
Mine's a 99 with factory aero, 19 in wheels, fabspeeds, rollbar and a few minor other items.
Vorland,
A GT3 with that ride height, rear wiper and sunroof!? No, don't think so.
Sabenza,
Get the real deal (GT3) or badge it with a Carrera badge.
Ciao,
Johannes E.
