I'm thinking about doing the clutch/flywheel and replacing the RMS while that's being done.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm thinking about doing the clutch/flywheel and replacing the RMS while that's being done. The sachs clutch and aasco flywheel is what the GAC guys run it looks like. Which clutch do they use do you think the spring hub type? What are the advantages and disadvantages over the regular? Also it says "Sport Clutch Disc, Spring Hub Type, With Organic Lining For Higher Friction, Only For Models With Special Updated Aluminum Flywheel AM10-6411-11, 996 Carrera 2/4 (1999-04), Each " Would the AASCO qualify as a special updated aluminum flywheel. I still drive the car about 1/2 the time so is it livable as a daily with this setup? Also is there anyone in the greater Bay Area that does these installs and the RMS?

POST 2Original post

Sachs. It is what I did in my clutch/flywheel replacement a couple months back. Also, unless you are going to track you car ALOT then the LWF is not worth it (if you were ocnsidering it).

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
