I installed H&R coilovers when I first bought my 996 because they were all that was available but I certainly had no complaints.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I know you love the PSS , is there anyone have the HR coilovers ? if please tell me somthing about it ,what you think etc.. ,and if you dont have it ,i also like to hear why you dont... There was a very nice Company from Sweden on stockchallange tonight ,i hope you all watch it .... /Robert

POST 2Original post

To be honest, I haven't heard anything good about the H&R kit. edit: oops, meant to say I haven't heard anything bad about the kit....

POST 3Original post

I installed H&R coilovers when I first bought my 996 because they were all that was available but I certainly had no complaints. They worked great for me and the guy I sold them to is still using them on the street and at the track.

POST 4Original post

There's nothing wrong with them, just a basic non adjustable coil over, might be better off with an OEM setup. You know, a setup designed for your car rather than something off the shelf made to work. Off my soapbox.

POST 5Original post

i once had the h&r coilovers on my 996. they were great, worked really well. nice and firm for the street and not bad at the track too. wasn't bone jarring at all. lifetime warranty but there have been reports of shoddy customer service. bilstein reportedly has much better customer service.

POST 6Original post

I am on my second set of H&R coilovers. They're much better than stock for street, and pretty good for the track too. They're height adjustable during install. I've had TWO struts leak in the last 12 months. I think this is due to buying at TireRacket. They must have had the kit sitting in stock for months and the seals probably dried up. My experience dealing with TireRack and H&R for warranty service was a nightmare of epic proportions. I CANNOT recommend H&R or TireRack to anyone and I will personally never use them again. It's too bad, 'cause the H&R coilover kit is priced right and feels great. Next time I will go for Bilstein.

POST 7Original post

I thought I had heard Bilstein makes the dampers for H&R. ????

POST 8Original post

They definitely used to, but whether they do now or not (H&R denies it), they won't service H&R product under ANY circumstances. H&R's stuff is great, but with terrible service, who cares?

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Okej , maybe i should go for the PSS or PSS9 kit then....You all here go for the PSS9 kit , anyone have the PSS kit ? /Rob

POST 10Original post

Not familiar with PSS, just PSS9. Is it similar to the RoW 030?

POST 11Original post

I think you'll be happy with PSS9. In any case it is way better than stock!

POST 12Original post

bilstein PSS are just like the PSS9s but are non damping adjustable. i don't think there are available for the 996 though.

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just like Karlooz says they are thesame but without the damping adjustment....we have theme here in Sweden for 996 ...price is around 2350 usd.... and the PSS9 around 3000 usd so your prices are much better in the US , ... anyone seen a used PSS9 on ebay maybe...? ever...? or maybe they never sell this items used ... /Rob

POST 14Original post

Actually I saw a set of PSS9s on ebay going for 1800 shipped! They may still be up

POST 15 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yes but free shipping is only for the US....and they only shipps in the US if it`s the new kit for 1899 usd you saw on ebay.com .. //Rob

POST 16Original post

do you know anyone in the states? I'd say buy it, have them ship it to your friend and have your friend ship to you... I would offer my services, but to be honest, if I had a set of PSS9s in my hand, they would go straight on my car!
