Anything is possible, I will have them inspected when I swap the wheels for sure.
Leading evidence: 'Inspect when i swap the wheels' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Is it possible that the force of the impact damaged the tires in ways that are not visible to the naked eye (and therefore should be replaced for safety reasons)?

Marc, just happened to run across these in the FS section...

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Over the weekend I hit some unavoidable "road imperfections" at highway speeds and bent BOTH front wheels! My wheels are (were) factory 18" Turbo twists.. oh well.. thats life in the northeast.
My car toy budget is not good at all! since I am doing allot of upgrades on my home but I guess it's time to find some new wheels since the rears have a little rash on them as well so to refurb I would do all 4.
My tires seem fine, no bubbles, and thats good since all four are brand new.
Thinking some GT3 wheels, 02 Carrera 5 spokes or maybe Sport Designs if I can find a decent set at a decent price. I'm not too keen on the knock offs... Unless somone can talk me into them.
If I do an 11" rear can the 285/30 tire I have fit on that?
Me to! I haven't bent a Porsche wheel in a decade! I think the last set I killed was a C2T wheel on my old 87 951, I rememberer the crater I hit in lower Manhattan well

Yes, you can get them refurbed to new for about $700 the set. Metro Wheels in Atlanta. I had all 4 of my 5 spoke CII's done locally for that. I wouldn't put 285/30-18's on an 11" rim, Your rim will stick out over 1/2" past the tire inside & out. Will look like crap.
I bent my driver's side front the other day uptown because the West Side Highway is intermittently closed northbound after 10pm in all the wrong places (not awful, e.g. steering wheel doesn't shake, but I know it's bent a little on the inside lip). I am surprised you bent 18 twists, but I will tell you a lot of people I know with 19s, both OEM and reps, have bent them. Resist the temptation to go up in diameter!
OK, rant over. You should be able to get them straightened for about 300 bucks or so for both including dismount, true, mount, balance and fit, I don't have the name of a guy back east yet but I will try to get one. Let me know if you find anyone good in the area.
That su@ks Marc! Were your front tires inflated below the factory 36?? Just curious since we drive the same roads! I say have the rims repaired as well. You can even just do the fronts for now, and wait on doing all 4 till the funds are more available.
I had success with rimandwheelworks.com, in MA.
I bought a set of Fiske Profil 5S wheels for my lowered 2003 CS2 and have 11.0 x 18, +64mm offset on my rears which look great. The tire is Michelin PS2 295/40-18. My fronts are 9.5 x 18 with a 235/40-18 tire.
Tires were at 36, just had checked them.
It's just going to be a real bitch getting the wheels off, tires off and shipping the wheels out.
refinish them or find a nice set of wheels in the $1000 range, thats the question
If it were me, and I had an '02, I would find a good set of Carrera 5-spoke rims somewhere. Swap your tires onto them. Then, send the bent twists to be un-bent (in most cases, you wont even need a refinish), and either sell them, or, use them as winter rims w/ snows!
Marc, just happened to run across these in the FS section...

I bent the fronts, had them fixed, bent them again. Same thing happened with my old BBS Rk's...I'm not going to bother fixing again, I'll just save the money and next time I will buy forged from ccwheel.com
That must have been some big pothole or ridge to bend both fronts!
I bent both wheels on the passenger's side last month on a pothole that flew out from under the car in front of me (that'll teach me not to tailgate). Even the guy in the Range Rover right behind me looked alittle shocked when he hit it, although I doubt an SUV would incur any damage (their only redeeming feature). This sucked in particular because I just had all the wheels refinished by Wheel Enhancement and they were perfect!
I was so pissed I thought about filing a claim with the NJDOT - they supposedly would "consider" your claim (subject to all sorts of limitations) IF they were notified about it at least 48 hours before. I had a buddy alert them about the pothole, figured I'd try out a claim in a few days, damned if they don't throw some tar and gravel in the hole 2 days later!
The same thing recently happened to me in Northern NJ. I took the rim to the place below, and they straightened it for like 90 bucks. They can refinish it for additional money to make it nearly perfect, but in NJ is it worth having perfect rims?

Probably are solid, ridges on the inside of the spokes....
I'd heard or read that the hollow spoke wheels were also made of a slightly lighter alloy.
I have a one of my Porsche Cookie Cutters straightened a couple years ago, so that should work for you.
Oh well, went ahead and bought me a nice set of the 18" 2 Piece sport designs, I always really liked that wheel anyways. I will get the old ones straighted out after I swap.
