Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I just replaced all (6) plugs and coils on our '02 C2 with the

It doesn't bother me a bit to change them as a matter of fact I am the guy who changes plugs before they should be done.

So hard that I had to do the old "loosen then tighten, then loosen then tighten" method because I thought that threads were going out along with the old plugs.

Well considering the advent of iridium and and such I thought that Porsche would have used a higher quality plug that would last longer to maintain the performance.

I'm not a fan of any contaminants in the combustion chamber, if you use too much and it gets in there...

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Going to change out the plugs this winter and was just wondering if everyone is going with the same plug that came stock or is there an upgrade that you all are doing.
I tried search but couldn't find specific to this question.
Thanks
Mine are actually worse then that! I can't believe how worn these are after just 62k. The center is very mushroom shaped and the electrodes are very worn.
Think I am going to go with the NGK's this time.
I was surprised at how much more smoothly the car idled and revved after replacement. I don't know if that's attributable to the plugs or the coils (two showed hairline cracks), but it's a definite improvement.

Some types of anti seize have metallic components, but there are some that don't and claim to be "spark plug safe".
just place a very very small amount only two or so threads from the base. that stuff spreads alot. like logray said ^^ , try not to get any in the combustion chamber.
I didn't use any anti-seize. The original plugs all came out easily and the new ones went back in the same way. YMMV, but I just followed the Porsche recommendation on this one.
62,000 miles is a long time on a set of plugs. How many other sets of plugs have you looked at after that time frame? Up until the P-car most cars I've own have called for plug changes at 30k....

On the anti seize topic. I have used very small amounts of A- seize in almost every car that I have owned from old Ford pickups to my last BMW and have never had a problem.
The plugs that I just took out of the 996; two of them came out extremely hard. So hard that I had to do the old "loosen then tighten, then loosen then tighten" method because I thought that threads were going out along with the old plugs.
It's like Elmers glue; A little dab will do ya!
