Suggestion

They always disconnect front drive shaft on a awd Porsche before any pulls, because of what Chris said.

Suggestion

I think a better test would be a timed performance test under controlled conditions, either 0-60, or 1/4 mile.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Does anyone know of a facility that will dyno a C4S for a fee? I am installing some new mods and there is a dispute on a seperate thread about any HP that may be gained.

POST 2Original post

Call AUTOSPORT DESIGNS in Long Island. They might be able to help you out. [phone removed]. Theo

POST 3Original post

ICS performance. They have a 4 wheel drive Dyno jet. very reasonable prices. Knnows your car Stamford Conn. Exit 8 off 95 Call George (great guy) tell him Elliot sent you. 203 [phone removed]

POST 4Original post

Be very careful with a AWD on a dyno, one guy with a TT fried his differential on a so called awd dyno, but I'm sure the dyno owners paid for the damage, right? Probably a g timer will give you as reliable info anyway, chassis dynos are basically bull****. A real dyno requires the engine be removed from the car.

POST 5Original post

Gcohen, As i said ICS performance knows your car. They always disconnect front drive shaft on a awd Porsche before any pulls, because of what Chris said. Their Dynpojet seems to be conservative in its values and you get accurate and consistant RWHP which is what counts. Elliot

POST 7Original post

I wouldn't mess with a chassis dyno. Even for an A:B comparison of mods, you may not get the answer you want. The reasons are fairly technical, but if you want to read about it, try Steve Dinan's white paper on dynos. It refers to BMW's but the same principles apply: http://dinancars.com/whitepapersFile.asp?ID=9 As one of the previous posters noted, you really would have to do an engine dyno to get good results. I think a better test would be a timed performance test under controlled conditions, either 0-60, or 1/4 mile. Then you know whether your mods make any real world difference. Finally, be real, real skeptical about any "dyno proven" performance mods. There are a whole lot of ways to make a mod look better than it really is.

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Maybe I'll dig out my g-tech and stick with that. Thanks for everyones input.
