Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, I am trying to replace the 3 pc trim strips on the dash that goes across. I can't seem to remove it. Any idea? I am talking about the 2 small pc and 1 long piece that goes across between the airbag and the glovebox... Airbag strip. Any help will be appreciated

POST 5Original post

You can get them all off w/o removing the dash. The glove box side is not too bad. The Right steering wheel side will break off easily and new one can be glued on. Left side will come off but may be broken loose too. Turns out looking like factory none the less.

POST 6Original post

I've had the carbon strips added to my car by the dealer after reading other DIYs and poking around a bit myself. They look great but the dealer spent 4 hours installing them properly (I got the original parts back intact). Unfortunately to do the install several interior parts need to be removed that you wouldn't normally touch so some rattles have been induced. I now need to take it back to the dealer for some work to see if they can cure these. Make sure you really want these parts before you decide to do it.

POST 7Original post

I did mine in about an hour just take the glove box out and remove both side vents, then with a bit of laying on your back in the footwells and a lot of bad language you can do the job properly and remove all the screws and put them all back
