Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello All, I am getting a spoiler sprayed and fited shortly on my lovely black 996 cab c2. Does anyone know how to go about disconnecting the rear wing. I assume that if you simply unplugg this you will get a warning light when you hit 75mph (when the rear wing should be 'showing off' like a peacock)that would annoy the hell out of me if the lights stays perm on. Thanks in advance, Oh and dont eat any irish porka at the moment it will make you sick! T

Ski, Ski..... Ski!!! I thought we taught you better than that! Get pics from the Newbies before you give them any help! Now you just lost your leverage! There is a 68.4% chance we won't hear from him again. He could be a One-Hit-Wonder. J/K! Seriously, nice of you to help him!

POST 6Original post

Good point, Tim. ImCalling911 - you now formally owe us pics of your P-car when you get the wing installed - or else!

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

hahaha okay okay. Ski you were really helpful thanks. Those instructions were for the exact spoiler i am fitting. Looks great on your Porka too! Can wait to get it fitted. I have attached piccys as the lovely car currently stands. I took the hard top back off as really not sur on the look. It has divided my friends as some prefer it and others dont. Thanks again for your help guys. And gota911 the chances are actually 68.8% Cheers, T

You know when your 996 adventure begins, but not when It would be finished... In a 996 we can hundreds of mods to do (OEM parts, aftermarket parts, home made parts) There is a universe to personalize

POST 12Original post

Great pics! Thanks for sharing! OEM skirts would look great on your car. BTW - what are you doing to the front bumper to counter balance the effect of the rear spoiler/wing you are adding? Porsche strongly recommends that you not add a wing without also adding a front splitter to redice front lift.

Thanks for the TSB. I really appeciate it. That lamp is driving me nuts

POST 15Original post

Tim is absolutely correct - Porsche has developed a paired front lip spoiler to reduce front end lift that will be created by the fixed wing's increased downforce. They are cheap compared to the cost of the wing and you won't have any issues at high speed. Just do it! Here's what it looks like on the car:

POST 16 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi guys wing has been fitted and looks great I will take some pics tomorrow and post. I do not have a front spoiler so def need to get one then. Idid not notice anything drastic on the way back from the paint shop but do not want to take any risks!! Any idea on best place in UK to get them from? On my iPhone now so will have a proper look tomorrow. Also. He connected the light to the secondary light in the Old rear wing so the new wing brake light only works when wing is up either manually or or over 70 I need to' jam' the switch in the footwell in the perm up position any ideas? I don't literally mean jam physically! Hard writing and searching forums on iPhone ! Cheers
