Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Are there places where I could pick up a good used set someone has grown out off?
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I am thinking of upgrading the stock suspension on my '01 996 C4. What are you guys recommending? How about the Bilstein PSS10 setup. I have Bistein shocks on my older track 911 and like them. Any experience and suggestions?
Does anyone have a system for sale? Let me know.
Merry Christmas
Ingo
So far my track/daily driver is a narrowbodied '74 Targa with a 964 3.6 engine and 915 tranny with 7/31 R&P. The suspension setup is 21/29 torsion bars, front adjustable Koni's, rear Bilstein Sports, late Carrera sway bars, 7/16 in the front and 8/16 in the back and strut brace. The car handles awesome and is lots of fun both at the the big track @ Willow Springs as well as AX venue.
I did all of the work myself including the engine swap. The suspension evolved from bone stock 1974 with shot shocks through multiple iterations. Each addition/change made subtle difference. Shocks and T-bars came first followed by sway bars. Then bushings, strut brace, tires, alignment, corner-balancing.
In comparison to the Targa the C4 suspension feels more precise but softer and less dramatic. It's US ride height bone stock. I understand that the first couple of upgrades steps would be
- US ride height
- Porsche sports suspension M030
After that is pretty much aftermarket struts, adjustable sways, etc. What would you recommend if I want to take it to the track occasionally?
Thanks,
Ingo
for mostly street, pss9/10 are popular... with h&R anti roll bars... dial them down for the occasional track day. But, once you get faster on the track and get more serious... you'll outgrow them.
Hm, seems the street price for the PSS10 setup is about 2600 bucks. Does that make sense? That's still pretty steep... Are there places where I could pick up a good used set someone has grown out off?
Then there there is the fitment question - seems like there are three different models, one for the 996 Turbo, one for 996 C2, and one for 996 C4? I would have expected that at least the Turbo and the C4 are interchangable. Any insight?
Ingo
IMHO... no
The 10 has a distinct clicking noise in adjustability.... the 9 does not, but has a notchy feel. The ride is the same on both... to some its' worth the money.
