Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

22 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Boy am I tired! Nothing like lifting and carrying 4 heavy wheels across the lawn, down 4 steps and across the driveway - in the dark, in the rain! As Danny Glover says, "I'm gettin too old for this s*it!" My wife is taking my Honda because hers needs to go for body work. I normally drive the Honda to a park and ride in Jersey City. For Wed thru Friday, I'll be driving the Porsche. I checked the weather last night, and they predict snow, freezing rain, slush for Wed morning! I had visions of my car slipping all over the un-plowed road if there is half an inch of snow/sleet. I didn't change over to snow tires yet, but figures the first day I have to take the car to work, they predict winter storm weather. So, I checked the thermometer last night - 64 degrees! Pull out the jack, impact wrench, torque wrench, and light - and after an hour plus, got it done! For some reason, my 18" Twists liked my impact socket - but my 17" replica twists didn't. The socket didn't fit into the lug holes? Had to do it by hand. We'll see how the Pirelli Snowsport tires perform tomorrow!

POST 2Original post

c'mon... life is good when you're busting out the impact wrench... I still have the cross bar.

POST 3Original post

Ah yes, putting on the Blizzaks. The only thing that can make the experience better is putting them on and seeing that you have the direction of travel reversed. Like I did this year. Is there a reverse burnout smiley?

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ouch! My Pirellis aren't directional...I did check it though!

POST 5Original post

Not to be a smart a$$, but I generally roll my tires to the garage. That's the beauty of round wheels.

POST 6Original post

Quotes source post: 6095229

Ha...this made me laugh. Andy, I feel your pain though. I've got 6 spare / extra sets of wheels and tires around the house and store them in the basement so I know your pain of carrying wheels around.

POST 7Original post

Quotes source post: 6095118

With a little imagination this could be a reverse burnout smiley!

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 6095229

Ever have to have a phone dial rim refinished after rolling it down a hill, and accidentally letting it bounce onto the pavement, face down? I'll never roll wheels on anything but a straight surface again!

POST 9Original post

Quotes source post: 6095307

Hey, not bad. Captures the feeling pretty well.

POST 10Original post

Lost access to my company car 100% of the time so I am driving around on my summer tires until I buy a winter beater!! Hate winter! Man the conti's are not fond of cold!

POST 11Original post

Quotes source post: 6095790

And they are not appropriate for winter travel. In even a not so serious snow flurry, you're putting yourself and fellow road travelers at risk. Get some winter wheels and tires. You'll be delighted how fantastic our cars are in inclement weather. Indeed, I was up in Vermont for some skiing over the weekend with low temps at 7 deg and the remnants of an ice storm everywhere. My car just ate up the snowy/sleety/frozen roads.

POST 12Original post

Quotes source post: 6095925

Easy there Edward, I dont plan to put anyone at risk and am well aware of the issues with these tires. Should have my beater by the end of the week, I often drive places I would rather not take a Porsche so another car is a must.

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 6095966

If you can swing it, a "beater" is key! I would hate to have to go to Home Depot on a Sunday in my 996! Get into my '02 Accord, without a care in the world!

POST 14Original post

Quotes source post: 6095979

Oh yeah, picking up either an old Volvo XC70 wagon or BMW 528iT wagon... Somthing to haul the dogs around in and hit Home depot. The master plan is when the wifes lease is up in the summer get her an SUV or Audi wagon and than I will probbaly pick up somthing like a M5 or Audi S4 as a daily driver.

POST 15 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

What happened to the company new car every month? GM woes force that to come to an end?

POST 16Original post

Quotes source post: 6096028

Oh yeah, That killed it. Maybe it will be back when things improve.

POST 17 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 6096279

Assuming GM stays in business. Sad times...

POST 18Original post

Quotes source post: 6096341

What's sad about bloated payrolls, an infinite inventory of cars nobody wants to buy, and poor company management over the past 4 decades?

POST 19Original post

Quotes source post: 6098156

That it will cost the taxpayers in the end and the loss of countless jobs, thats what's sad.

POST 20Original post

Quotes source post: 6098330

Less poeple paying taxes and more places and government agencies asking and using our money = tough times ahead I fear a spiral effect that will be ugly. I dont think the real trouble has hit yet. In about a year when these people on un-employment stop getting thier weekly checks.... THEN its going to get really bad..
