Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. I've run spacers of all widths and never had an issue with tire wear but adjusting camber is another thing....

Some guys run 15's on the front as well, but I prefer this look and can't comment on how they would fit at the front.

No, I'm talking about me...I have to use a large shoehorn to wedge my *** into the sport seats...I tried Mobil 1 on the leather, but it kept staining my suits...the other day my wife told me it would be easier for me to wear the car, than get in it...

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have an 02 996 cab with carrera 5 spokes. I want to add spacers to the wheels and wanted to know what size everyone recommends. I originally was going to put 7mm all around, but it seams like there are alot of Kits that have 7mm for the front and 14mm for the rear. Is that the normal size? I would love to have both the front and rear be wide without sticking past the fender.
TIA
John
I have the H&R's, 7's up front, 15's on the rear ... perfect fit imo. The rears do not go past the wheel well. Some guys run 15's on the front as well, but I prefer this look and can't comment on how they would fit at the front.
The attached photo, although not close up, should give you a sense how the car sits. Car has also been lowered using PSS9s.
Hope this helps.
I may be in a minority here but I think that our cars actually need more spacer in the FRONT than in the rear to make the wheels sit the same in relation to the fender.
While I've got a different design wheel they should be the same sizing (18 x 8 and 18 x 10 rears) and when I had 14mm spacers both front and rear I felt the fronts looked just right but the rears stuck out just a bit too far.
I now run 15mm spacers in the front and NONE in the rear. I'd like to have a small rear spacer on there but since I didn't want to fiddle with rear spacers when I change to the track wheels (I need them for the fronts to fit) I decided to leave them off.
This picture kinda shows what I'm talking about 285 rear tire on stock offset wheel with a 14mm spacer. Just sits out a touch too far in my opinion. Front also has 14mm spacer in this picture and looks just right.
Thank you both. those pics help alot. I do like the 14mm on the front. I think I may do 14mm all around. Does anyone have a pic of the rear wheel with a 28mm on the back? It is probably too much, but I could buy that one pretty cheap.
John
I have the same wheels for the street. These are 8" and 10" widths, with 50/65 offsets. I use 7mm all the way around.
As I mentioned on the othe forum, I have hubcentric spacers, as my first set of 7mm caused a shimmy. Some folks get away without hubcentric. I wasn't so lucky...
FWIW, for track duty, I have to take the spacers off for my rear tires to fit...

I think that last pic that AudiOn19s posted put it into perspective for me. I think that the 14mm does stick out just a little too much. But I do like the 14mm in the fronts.
Thanks everyone for the help. Performance products has a sale of 20% off everything if you put "holiday" in the checkout code. It is only for 48hours.
Thanks all. I bought the H & R 7mm for the back and 14mm for the front. This seemed to look the best in my opinion. All the photos were very helpful. Thanks again
John
I currently have 15mm in the rear and have another set of 15mm sitting in a box. Since I have 245/18 's with 50mm offsets up front I don't know if I can put the other spacers up there. Eventually I just want to get wheels that fit, but for now this will do.
Question: someone told me putting spacers on the rears hastens inside tread wear. Anyone else familiar with that topic?
I will, but it will be a while. My car is unfortunately hibernating, probably till April. I may do it while stored if I can get to the side that is parked next to the wall. I may not be able to fit the jack in there.
But just think how you could look at the car all winter long with that nice new stance.
Of course the other challenge is wrestling that big 18" wheel against the tight wall, fun stuff.
I've got 7/14 and it looks about perfect on mine, H&R makes good German products, have fun.
I knew that one was coming...

Did you buy the extra long bolts to use with the 14mm spacers?
The original wheel bolts are too short, you need the extra long ones to go with your 14mm spacers - not sure on the 7mm, they may be ok.
Final look of 14mm on the front is awesome
Deckman you can go with the 15 up front if you wish too, it'll make the wheel almost flush with the fender.
