Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I am new to the Porsche community and would appreciate some advice on what model to purchase.
I have had 2 Rx-7's, 328 BMW, and an NSX. I started getting the track bug with the NSX, found it a bit wanting, so I traded it for a C6 Corvette 6 months ago.
A few weeks ago on the track at speed a pulley bolt came loose, pulleys came off, steering control lost..... I managed to keep it on the track and get it back into the pits, but not before the engine was toast. Now they are trying to find a new engine to replace it, but hopefully not before the 30 day California lemon law rule goes into effect.
So now I am looking for the car I should have purchased in the first place.
I have driven 2-3 yr old 911's and have liked them. In looking I have seen the 40th anniv edition, as well as cars used in the Porsche Driving School.
The driving school cars are set up the way I , with the sport seats and all, and have low miles, usually from 3K to 7K, but I am a bit concerned with the amount of use and "abuse" they have gotten at the track school.
Needless to say I don't want another car with "issues".
Any comments or recomendations would be greatly appreciated.
My sister and her husband have an 04 C4S so they are happy that I have returned from the dark side.
I think the relevance of your purchase should suffice your needs. Drive them and if you like the way it drives then buy it! I don't think anyway here is qualified to answer that question for you. Its a matter of taste.
If you are planning to purhcase used then make certain a qualified PPI is done on the vehicle. Remember, searching for the right vehicle is just as fun as the day you make the purchase.
Good luck.
I've heard those PDE cars are not broken in at all, I mean some have seen cars ~500 miles on the track, so I'll be weary of them...., but the 40th are amazing cars,....good luck in your hunt.
do NOT buy a PDE car unless you are only going to keep it for a year or two.
they are by no means properly broken in, and they ARE abused
the 40th cars are an absolute steal, new OR used.
perennial advice for a 911 buyer, buy the newest you can afford.
Thank for all the info and help, especially about the PDE cars. It seems that all of the SoCal dealers have several on their lots, selling as new cars with new car warranties and about a 10-12K discount off of the MSRP. I will cross those off my list.
The 40th anniversary cars look great, but are hard to find. I will keep up the search.
And the C4S drives great...... and the Carrera S does too.....
All these choices......
But it's all good.....
