Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Fellas, I just picked up an '01 C2 that is experiencing a strange battery/alternator issue. Upon startup, the voltmeter will hover around 12v for appx 10-15 minutes of driving, then inexplicably it will move and remain at its standard 14v. Does anyone have any idea what would be causing this issue? It should be noted the alternator was replaced appx 9 months ago by the previous owner. Many thanks in advance, Payton

POST 2Original post

I suggest: 1. Have the battery load tested - replace if needed. 2. Have someone check for loose grounds - especially at the engine and transmission.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks, will do. I'm going to call the shop that installed the alternator in the morning.
