Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hoping (assuming) this is a non-issue. Went to start up car and oil pressure showed zero with an oil failure warning. Turned off car and restarted, no problem, pressure normal, warning gone. Checked oil level and it was about 50% on the dipstick when at operating temp; car running fine. Forget it until it happens again?

POST 2Original post

Quotes source post: 9106558

The oil pump in these engines either works or it doesn't. It is part of the IMS and of course this is driven by a chain from the crankshaft. If the pump stops turning the cams stop turning and at this point loss of oil pressure is like finding out as the Titanic is going down the galley is out of caviar. The problem is likely a pressure sensor either the sensor proper or its wiring/connection/connector. I'd get this looked into and if any problem found fixed. It is one thing to have this warning appear upon starting the engine. It would be a bit of a heartstopping moment to have the warning appear while the engine was running and perhaps you driving in traffic. There are enough unexpected distractions without having a flakey oil pressure sensor sender adding to them. Sincerely, Macster.

POST 5Original post

Hi, I bought a 19 mm normal open jaw wrench, and cut it off about 1" from the jaws. Then I went in from underneath, with a crow bar to pry with. It took maybe 15 minutes all and all. Regards, Johan

POST 6Original post

If you still need to change it after you clean the contacts. A 19mm "crows foot" with the right wobble extension will do it from underneath also. http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/BLA...t-Wrench-4AV99
