I remember in BMWs you can have the cluster run a self-check where it would test everything one by one.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
12 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Hi All,
I noticed today that my seat belt sign on the cluster does not come on if I drive off without buckled up. I cant seem to remember if there was also a chime as well as I do not hear it either. I have always buckled up prior to starting the motor up so I cant remember the exact sequence.
I am thinking if there was no chime or notification on the cluster LCD, the bulb in the cluster might be bad. Can someone confirm please how it is supposed to work?
can be the buckle sensor then but I thought that will throw an ABS light. I have no idiot lights.
Is there a way to check the cluster bulbs without pulling the bulbs out? I remember in BMWs you can have the cluster run a self-check where it would test everything one by one.
I am thinking the seatbelt thinks that I its always engaged (buckled up) so I dont see the no-seatbelt warning light even when I first turn the key. For the same reason, I dont hear the chime either.
I looked at the seatbelt buckle, and looks like the drive side seat needs to come out to replace it.
Porsche87, can you check that for me please if the light does come on momentarily before turning the key while the seat belt is buckled? Mine does not at all. Before I order a new buckle, that would be the last test. Thank you all.
