Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'Use side mirrors' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Use side mirrors' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Any dissadvantages to a targa? I'm in the market for a used 911 and I've seen a few targas listed. I've never seen one in person. It's just a big sunroof right?
Any associated problems eg body flex, leaks, rattles, is there a sun shade?
Thanks for the info
The Targa has a nice roof line similar to a coupe. It's far better looking than the cab. roof line. It's more secure than a cab. and still provides the open air feel. There is a power sun shade for when it's real hot and real sunny. Forget body flex, forget leaks, once in a while you get a rattle over rough roads or railroad tracks. One possible issue, when it's open, the view through the rear view mirror is somewhat distorted. Use the side mirrors!
I think Thegman summed things up pretty well.
I love my '02 Targa; I've never lusted over any other normally aspirated 996 variants. The car is tight, responsive, and the Targa roof is alway a fun diversion. It's really more than a sunroof; I enjoy the glass panorama roof even when closed--in the early morning I've got stars overhead, and I've experienced some lightning storms that were amazing.
The best thing about the Targa is the virtually instant flexibility. If I'm on the highway and the phone rings, I can close the top and carry on a quiet conversation. If rain is threatening I can still take off with the top open, knowing that a push of the button will close things up if things get wet.
All that said, the Targa is somewhat less of an open air experience than a Cab, and I think if you truly are a Cab person, then that's the way to go. For me, though, the Targa offers enough of an open air experience, while also providing better security and a more rigid chassis, being based on the coupe.
