I have the XM Commander and since it works on FM modulation it does not need the tape. I will try to take a picture of it 4 you

porsche is offering some dealer installed XM on certain cars. If they cant do it for yours, you have to get a simple generic fm modulator version. Probibly no other way to break into the factory system.

XM has a sale going on for the Roadie..I think $99 or so with home adapter and auto FM transmitter included. Cig lighter power module is also transmitter and sends to your FM tuning choice..no connection through antenna. Mine works great - may not please audiophiles but sound inside my 996 is such that I can't tell any degradation on sound. Small antenna goes on front dash under my inspection sticker - reception fine. Roadie mounted on my 4XCD carrier in the console. I installed CD changer. Nice setup for me and an easy install - Radio Shack multi plug lighter/power source hooked direct to battery and stored behind console. 2 more outlets available after XM and no wires coming out of stock cigarette lighter outlet.
