Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. To do this, you would have to pick up all the costs, including the unknown repair costs.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have searched all over the board but can't find an answer on CPO warranty exclusions.
Is the certified warranty just an extension of the factory warranty or are there items that are not covered with the CPO warranty?
Thanks!
There are SEVERAL differences between the two. I am not sure what they are/are not. Maybe try over at Renntech. Speaking from experience, my MY00 just moved into the certified period and the original warranty ended and not even 1 month after that the water/coolant tanked cracked! Guess what? Not covered. They covered the parts under "goodwill" and I paid about $400 for labor. OUCH! Nonetheless I could have had to pay for the whole thing.
By the way, the package I got from PCNA after my purchase outlined what is/ is not covered in a "welcome" type kit called "Porsche Approved Certified Pre-Owned Vehichles".
Dell
LVDell,
Did you get that stuff directly from Porsche. I have a certified car and never received anything. Is there a number/contact information included to get this information?
Thanks,
Dave
Yes Dave I got it directly from Porsche. It took about 5 months after I purchased the car though.
Here is the ocntact info on the letter:
PCNA, INC.
980 Hammond Drive
Suite 1000
Atlanta, GA 30328
[phone removed]
However.....the postage stamp next to the postage says Marlborough,MA. Odd.
Anyway, hope this helps.
Dell
Dell,
I am curious. Did you purchase the car new or used? If used did you purchase it from a Porsche Dealership. If you would rather not say in the public forum please feel free to PM me. I ask because I purchased a car used from a non-Porsche delearship and am getting some conflicting information with regard to Porsche CPO program. Thanks.
bet - You cannot get a Porsche CPO warranty from a non-Porsche dealership. I have a CPO from a Porsche dealership. What kind of run around are you getting?
I am pretty sure that it says in the inforation packet that the CPO warranty is only tranferable to another private party, not a dealer. Here is how I read this: if I sell to a buddy, CPO is transferable, if I sell to a dealer, the dealer may not re-sell the car as a CPO.
If you bought the car from a dealer other than a Porsche delear, I don't think it can have a CPO warranty... even if it WAS CPO'd when the delear acquired the car... warranty would stop once a dealer took possesion of a previously CPO'd car...
I bought it from the dealer here in Vegas and it was certified before I would purchase it. Hence.....certified preowned. If you bought yours from a non-porsche dealership then you would not get the extended warrranty through PCNA that comes with certified car. You would have to have bought it from a private party. Hope this explanation helps.
This was the information I was looking for. It really is a moot point as I miss read your first post to say that you got your CPO after purchase (and not that the car's warranty period moved from regular factory warranty to CPO warranty period, which is what you really said...poor reading on my part).
As for the conflicting information. I was originally told by a representative of a delear that they could CPO a car for a fee if I owned it and I wanted to see if this was the case with you (which is not the case for you). Of course I have also been told this can not be done (which seems to be the correct answer). Thanks though for the follow up.
No problem Brian. Sometimes I have read here on the board of people getting the CPO done by the dealer for about $1.5-2K. Something maybe you want to look into. I think it is mainly for cars STILL in warranty that are looking to get it extended. If this is the case I don't see why the dealer wouldn't want to take your money. Worth a shot.
Either way, best of luck.
Dell
This is exactly what I want to do. My car is in warranty until February 2005. I want to buy the CPO now. Unfortunately I can not get good solid information whether this is possible.
This is not something that is really possible. Think about what the dealer would have to go through:
Mechanic to check the car - about $500.00
Repairs to bring the car to spec - ?$$$$?
Cost of certification Program - $1,575.00
To do this, you would have to pick up all the costs, including the unknown repair costs. In addition, the dealer is making a profit on the used car sale. Why would they cut their own throat ($$) to certify a car that they have no vested interest in.....
Don't the dealers get paid by PCNA for all warranty work? I would think it would be in their best interest to do something like since they are making money on the repairs (currently the car is under warranty) and the CPO (there is a markup) and future work under the warranty???
I don't claim to be an expert on this so I am just throwing it out there to try and help Brian with his search to get the CPO.
Any thoughts? Any documentation otherwise?
Hope it all works out Brian.
