Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I recently had my seat out to install an aftermarket seat. I did not have the key in the ignition during the removal/installation but I must have plugged the connector in the wrong way because my airbag light is on now. 1) Does this mean my airbag is not working? 2) Does anyone know which way the connector goes in? Since the connector is square, it seems to have 4 possible orientations. I must have chose poorly. 3) Will I need to disconnect the battery to get the airbag light off when I do finally get the connector right? Thanks, Jake

POST 2Original post

Jake, not 100% sure, but I think you need to have the light reset by the dealer. If a light comes on, it stays on even if the fault is corrected until the dealer turns it off with his computer.

POST 4Original post

I just had this reset today at the dealership. I had my seat out to put a roll bar in, from what I understand the airbag will still work. I think you have to disconnect the battery for this not to happen when you take the seat out. Of course then you have to worry whether or not the radio will need to have a code entered, not sure how that works on these cars...Your connector must be different than mine though, mine only goes in 1 way.... I have to admit that so far, Don Rosen Porsche has been very good to me. No charge for the reset!

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks. Had the seat out before a few times and this didn't happen. Not sure whats going on. Maybe I'll check out the stealer and see if they can reset it.
