We took out the condensors so his temps are much improved on the track so changing the front end might not be required....

This car is sort of a litmus test for us Bay Area folks because he tracks it every darn week and it's alive and well...
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

One of our favorite project 996s has to be this 996 3.4L cab, with F50 brakes, Moton Club Sport Suspension, no exhaust, GT3 seats.. oh and a Super Charger. This car is sort of a litmus test for us Bay Area folks because he tracks it every darn week and it's alive and well... I just got this in my mailbox from him

Made my day! He's one of those guys that's very subtle and understated about his driving but actually _very_ darn good
It's neat they managed to get that shot!
that's awsome!!
BTW, what are F50 brakes? i've been hearing about them. Are they the actual brakes from an F50 ferrari made by brembo, or a nickname for some kind of kit.
Does that picture not look like a "Photoshop job" to anyone? The perspective on the shape of the rear tire does not look right to me - it looks like someone simply worked on the road and shadow under the car in Photoshop to make it look like it's airborne. Also, I think my wheels drop more than that when the car is on jack-stands. Sorry to be a cynical, but that's what I see.
LOL I know! He likes to keep it low-key though so it's a strugle to find something that we can do to a cab
We took out the condensors so his temps are much improved on the track so changing the front end might not be required....
His is set up to be allowed... plus he's a really good driver and they love his car at all the different orgs. He wants a smaller pulley so he can get more hang-time...
I can't remember the weight, I think they were 4 piston, they were just the upgraded piston size.
I ordered them from TPC, you can call Tom down there and ask him about the brakes on Rod's M3. I'm sure he has the exacts.
That could and would be Absolutely CORRECT. You obviously track a lot too
Seriously it's fun tweaking these cars like crazy but seeing them perform at the track is something else... He's our litmus test for many parts...
I knew that would come up... I have the orignal he sent me. He's also someone that would in no way do that.. He wasn't the only car that took off that day apparently. The photographers there at turn 5 look out for that sort of action as it's not uncommon.... Your wheels "droop" because you don't have super-stiff motons with 750/850 pound springs....
Also since you're from Toronto.. it was "built by a Canadian" and "driven by a Canadian" so that should put that matter to bed. Both parties are always so understated...
D'OH! oh man..i'm gonna edit my post out..it was embarassing.
It's been a long day man. I categorically refuse to work on motorcycles from now on. Everything is so tiny and cramped.
Oh well..boxter owners can take that as a compliment.. i hope the 996 Cab owners wern't too offended
.
Excellent action shot. Dell brings up a good point... he's going to set off the pop up rollover protection.
I'd be a bit nervous about catching air like that in a cab with only a Teq bar and pop ups backing me up... I hope he's wearing arm restraints.
It's great to see that car in action.
Cheers
Is it just me or did his anti sub belt not work? Or he is just that tall and the roll bar isn't going to help in that case. It just looks like his head is much higher than the top of the seat and in my GT3 seats my head sits just barely above the top of the seat (and I am 6'1").
^ lol...he needs a southern flag, orange paint scheme and needs to scream YEEEEEEHAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! comming over the hill like that. It's mandatory
the carbon fiber is lighter dumb@#ss . . . he is probably flying "because" he blinged out with carbon fiber. Geeeezzzzz
Obviously he needs a bigger wing.
Thanks, Alex, I appreciate the kind comments!
And kudos to Dito Milian of GotBlueMilk.com for capturing the shot. For more, see

The gent who speculated that this picture was taken at the Thunderhill turn 5 bypass in the clockwise direction was spot on. The track is a blast in that direction, very tricky in spots. Don't know why it's not run that way more often.
Getting airborne is not difficult, you just have to carry enough speed over the crest and be pointed in the right direction. The picture following this one on the GotBlueMilk web site shows the factory rollover protection deployed. It goes "BANG" by the way
