Guys.. After owning a 2000 coupe with sunroof delete (can you believe i sold her?!), I am looking to get back into another 996. However, chances are slim to none (read: none) to find a coupe colored/optioned the way I want with the same sunroof delete option. I did some looking around, but am not finding much information regarding people trimming the fat on their coupes. Anyone sell a carbon fiber sunroof insert? Can anyone recommend any other significant weight savings mods they've done (seats/tire/carpet)? Thanks!

Seats and exhaust. Saves at least 100lbs. Take out the spare, at least 20 more. Lightweight battery. These are the easy mods.

I Think that you like a car to get into the track without any extra weight. Perhaps you might be wrong when you chose a 996. Your car ia 964 RS. Install backets. Remove the carpet, the radio , door panels... change the xenon lights and install a standard ones.... it's quite dificult to remove these parts, to win only 100 kg... 996 is not the car you are looking for

The goal isnt to have a 'LIGHTWEIGHT' porsche.. the goal is to have a lighter than normal 996. Just wondering what my options are to accomplish this goal.. Hard to believe that no one makes a sunroof insert..
