Below I used Suncoast because they have an ecom site.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I am looking to swap out my standard shift ****/e-brake with the aluminum look variation that to me would compliment my gray interior well. I am also considering a short shifter, B&M looks to be the choice there.
My question is where should I be looking for the parts and how much should I expect to pay for installation? To install the B&M the interior tunnel would be taken apart anyway so may as well upgrade the pieces then no? I called a local dealer and they wanted $1500 for everything, parts included. That sounds really high to me?
Also, does the B&M affect the warranty at all? If it does I will not be doing it then.
thanks...
Below I used Suncoast because they have an ecom site. However if you shop around (Sunset Imports should have the best prices) you can find better deals. I found an almost new Alum ebrake on ebay for $30 a few months ago deals are out there you get lucky sometimes.
Dealer pricing for everything below is about $1100 (assuming the SSK was included in the parts if not you are getting RAPED) so they are charging you $400 for labor. I think that is nuts especially when I can do it in about 1.5 hours in my garage. The process is well documented. I can point you in the right direction. If you are mechanically inclined I would say DIY save the $400 and buy another mod. You will feel much better having the experience. All of the work is related so doing the SSK the **** has to come off and the Ebrake takes no more then 15 additional minutes to install once you have the seats and rear console out.
Shift **** $350

OEM SSK $400 (Same as the B&M but black and sold by porsche it won't void the warranty)

Alex - Short shifter install (B&M or Porsche OEM) is a relatively easy DIY project... 2 to 2 1/2 hours... tops! Almost half of that time is spent removing and then reinstalling the rear center console. I installed a B&M SSK right after I got my P-car 9 months ago. Since shift **** has to come off anyway, no additional time spent there. I haven't replaced my e-brake handle, so I can't offer opinion on that mod, but it shouldn't be too difficult. Go the DIY route! It makes you enjoy the end result even more!
Pay the dealer only for the things you can't or don't want to do yourself.
