There is no warranty left, when things are replaced under warranty the warranty does not start over at that point, so the warranty has long since expired.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I am looking at a 1999 C2 Coupe. The car is dark blue with beige interior, minimal options but has 18" turbo twists. 50K miles, 15K miles on dealer/warranty replaced new motor. Mechanically flawless, cosmetically 9.5-10 out of 10. Some interior leather wear around handbrake and seat backs, but very minor. Front bumper appears to be re-sprayed.
Car is local to me and I took it for a test drive, everything seems as it should. Local shop PPI passed with no issues.
What is the fair market value for this car. I have never shopped for a 996 before as my previous P-cars were all 3.2 Carreras and a 993 C2.
Thanks for your help.
Dan.
Dan The recent issue of Excellence September 2007 #158 is a great read and has the info you are looking for. It lists a 99 Coupe from Low to High of $22970 - $34963
I recently made the move to a 99 C2 after several 3.2's and this thing is the best Pcar I could expect for a daily driver.
Early this summer I was going to buy almost the same kind of car for about $28,000+. I found a better deal that is costing me a little more money but the individual wanted my car and the 996 I am trading him for comes with more upgrades.
I would think about 30K would be a great deal for that car. The new engine is a huge plus in my book, plus it's still got some warranty left...right?

Thanks for all the input, I offered $28,500 and he is considering it. Seems fair to me. There is no warranty left, when things are replaced under warranty the warranty does not start over at that point, so the warranty has long since expired.
+1 with Magnus....that's what I meant. That would be a fantastic deal under 30 with a "new" engine that has all the upgrades the '99 didn't originally have.

A little OT, but I've not read Excellence - how does it compare to the Porsche Market Letter. Is it worth getting both? What are the features of each? Thanks.
