I used the rear Blizzaks for only two seasons but the front can last twice the life of the rears.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

25 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It's that time of the year again and I'm ready. Looking forward to another fun wintery blast. Last picture was taken from last year.

POST 2Original post

You should be happy with those. I use Blizzaks on my C4S and they are great.

POST 3Original post

looks good. just put on my pirelli snowsports and waiting for my first snow.

POST 5Original post

Good job. My Blizzaks are on as well waiting for snow and colder weather.

POST 6Original post

question. my first winter. true or false: as long as the snow does not drag on the bottom of the car we are good to go? i need to go skiing!!

POST 7Original post

I take mine skiing all the time during the winter months. You'll know when the now is too deep.

POST 8Original post

Yup. You should be good to go. Usually 4 - 5 inches is the limit for me. I take the Cayenne if there's more snow than that! Watch our for potholes, especially in the parking lots of the ski areas. I'm actually taking the day off and going skiing tomorrow, but I'm not taking the C4S.

POST 9Original post

those wheels are sick!! and I cant believe you are driving a Porsche in the snow!! YOU ROCK!!

POST 10Original post

I'm getting some put on today, then going up to the mountains this weekend : )

POST 11Original post

dennis have fun skiing tomorrow. not enough here in the east just yet. i am good to go!

Thanks! We're looking forward to it. I've only been to A-Basin so far this year. We haven't hit Keystone or Breckenridge yet. After talking it over with my wife, I think we are going to go to Breck.

Other than Killington, which is always the first(along with Sunday River)to open ...do any of the mtns. have snow? I ski at Loon and Sunday River ,but have never skied this early in the season.

When I venture into snowy/icy areas I like to carry a nice sturdy tow strap just in case the car gets high sided in a bit of deep snow or just ends up stuck. A tow strap with an u-bolt through the towing eye at either the front or rear of the car and the two strap connected to another vehicle with a willing owner/driver of course, can quickly pull the car out a trouble. With a tow strap you don't have to worry about a heavy chain and the tow strap can be connected more easily to the tow vehicle. Even if you have to call a tow truck having your own tow strap cuts down on the time it takes to get the car unstuck. Sincerely, Macster.

POST 15Original post

Anybody driven both the Blizzaks and the Snowsports? My Pirellis are about to have their last winter. Curious about the options.

POST 16 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I used the rear Blizzaks for only two seasons but the front can last twice the life of the rears. I was actually thinking of getting Nokians Haka but could not find the right sizes.

POST 17Original post

I had a set of Continental TS801 Sports last winter, and I thought they were good - really subtle tread, but they were great in the real winter that we get up here. However, the rears were worn down to the indicators when I put them on this fall, and thus I had to buy a new set because Conti no longer makes our size in these tires... I pretty much bought the only pair I could find in my city - and they were mucho expensivo! They are Pirelli 240 Snowsports (made in Germany), and so far, I like them a lot.

a very good point. a tow strap weighs nothing and fits easily, yet is quite strong. i can keep it in the plastic bin in the trunk along with flashlight, hat, gloves, scraper, maps....

POST 19Original post

Quotes source post: 9032638

I have the Pirelli Snowsport 240's. Been happy with them. The set ran about a $1000 or so. Just about to put them on this weekend.

POST 20Original post

Quotes source post: 9033556

Have the Pirelli Snowsports on the C2 (my 2nd set) - couldn't find them here this year so ended up with the Blizzaks on the C4S. World of difference - and I am tempted to hunt for the Pirelli's for the C4S and dump the Blizzaks - expensive lesson learned, at least in my case.

POST 21Original post

I use the pilot all weather. Have fun drifting. Can't wait to hit the slopes this year. Utah or Colorado???

POST 22Original post

I have the Blizzaks on 17" wheels for my C4. I cannot for the life of me recall the correct tire pressure for this combo? Any ideas?

POST 23Original post

...you drive a RWD Porsche in the snow!? You must go to church often!

POST 24Original post

Quotes source post: 9038174

This will be my 5th winter driving my C2 in the snow. Rear engine, rear wheel drive, proper winter tires, and to me it is one of the best cars in the snow I have ever had. I expect the C4S will see some snow this season, just wish I had N spec winters on that one as well.

POST 25Original post

Quotes source post: 9038174

Just going into my sixth winter now. I love it... they really were meant to be four season sports cars. That said, I'm not silly about it. I don't take it to places or in weather where I could find myself in really deep stuff. Not worth the grief when there's a 4x4 pickup in the garage. But otherwise, it's a winter daily.
