Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

14 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

I've got two options: 2003 C4S (New from Porsche Dealer): Arctic Silver, Black, Manual, Optional Equipment Includes: Y05 - Brake/Shifter Carbon/Aluminum XSC - Porsche Crest in Headrest XLF - Sport Exhaust System M6A - Black Mats - Porsche lettering 982 - Supple Leather Front and Rear 680 - Bose High End Sound Package C02 - U.S. Standard/Emissions 446 - Wheel Caps with Colored Crest 342 - Heated Front Seats Y29 - Aluminum/Chrome X71,X70,X54 P74 - Xenon Headlamp Package E82 - Aluminum Look Interior Small 450 - Ceramic Composite Brakes-PCCB Sale price 96,837 60 month lease 10,000 miles yearly 47% residual value 10,000 initial investment $1,198 monthly payment INCLUDING TAX (WA) Or, 02 C4S (Private Party) 4000 Miles, Silver, Black, Manual, Mid-70s for price. Can someone please provide me with some advice as well as if those lease terms make sense? I appreciate your help.

POST 2Original post

Sounds like someone is trying to bend you over with that lease. The car with 4k on it seems like a much better deal. Sheesh, FWIW with the payments @1,198 for 60 months, you will have more than paid for the private party car. No brainer!!

POST 3Original post

60 month lease !!! Never, ever, take a lease which's length is longer than the warranty period! If something broke the 49th month, say a transmission, you would be paying for the leasing company JM

POST 4Original post

Take some time to check out these two sites (no affiliation) www.leasecompare.com and http://www.leaseguide.com/index2.htm before you select either option.

POST 5Original post

Do u really want ceramics? Or should I ask, are u willing to pay for them? I think with that kind of $$ u are within TT or GT3 category

POST 6Original post

I almost leased one for $980/month, 3K down w/48 months. $85K MSRP less 11% off.

POST 8Original post

I am leasing (if it ever arrives) a 2004 C4S Cab, list in the high 90s for 1225/mth for 48 mths with 10k per month. Keep in mind only reason Porsche is releasing the 04 models so late is because of excess 03 inventory. Good luck.

POST 9Original post

Driver, The lease is total crap, stay AWAY! Dunno where you are located but the guys I got my car from (in Texas) have an AS 03 C4S, with 293 miles on it (not even broken in) for $81k, with similar options minus the PCCB. They were great to deal with and got me a great lease on my car (which was used). Especially if you're leasing the car, don't feel constrained to just dealers in your area. Anyway, these guys are: www.expomotorcars.com - do a search for 2003 porsches... good luck

POST 10Original post

Putting the same $10,000 down towards the private party purchase gives you a payment of $1260 instead of $1200 and means you can own the car at the end of 60 months instead of owing $45K on it!! No brainer to me. (of course I didn't figure in sales tax, if applicable in your state). As someone on another thread said, there is no sense comparing new vs. used, as used ALWAYS comes out ahead. Alternatively, it sounds like the lease you are talking about is on a very high money factor. If you have good credit (720+ FICO) you should be able to qualify for more aggressive lease factors through private banks rather than Porsche Financial rape-me rates. You might bring that lease down by $100 per month depending on what bank you go through (US Bank I think is the most aggressive, but only 1%-2% of people who apply qualify for the program).

POST 11Original post

I did a owners option purchase(baloon financing on my turbo and my payment is right around your payment. BTW, my term is 48 months, but of coarse with baloon financing, I can sell at any time. Terrible deal, move on. -Lou

POST 12Original post

Oh my God, I just reread your post. $10k down!! I only put about $2500 out of pocket. -Lou

POST 13Original post

i agree-the lease is a disaster. by the way, the 02 c4s is now 2 years old-it might be worth low 70's. i would stay way clear of that lease, and work on buying the 02 for the right price.

POST 14Original post

the price from the dealer sounds like a lease for a turbo, way too much. you are better off shopping somewhere else for a new car, as dealers are still discounting.
