Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

The test drive was scary-fun and now I am thinking about buying a 911 cabriolet (used 2002).

I've been looking at used TTs recently and it has been a little frustrating to say the least.

By the way, I have never driven a car that compared to the coupe I test drove.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I am driving a 550 hp Firebird Convertible and recently drove a 911 coupe. Althought the firebird has more grunt, there is otherwise no comparison. The test drive was scary-fun and now I am thinking about buying a 911 cabriolet (used 2002). Of course now , being a horsepower junkie, I am cosidering a 2001 911 turbo, and I am wondering if the driving experience of the turbo justifies the extra cost, and is it so good that I should give up my beloved drop top driving. By the way, I have never driven a car that compared to the coupe I test drove. Extraordinary is all I can say. I fell in love with the 911 after that drive. Thanks for any input. Kevin
I've been looking at used TTs recently and it has been a little frustrating to say the least. Like anything else a really nice low miles car is usually overpriced at some dealer or a car with a good price always seems to have a story. High miles or multiple owners... Not to say there are not good deals out there, just I haven't found anything so good I would want to get rid of my present car. The other downside of an '01 is the remaining factory warranty may be short lived, especially on early cars. I would concentrate on an '02 but that will be a little more money.
If I were you, and you're ready to spend $80K plus on a used TT you may consider buying a new Cab for the same money. No stories, brand new and a full factory warranty. Deals can be had on these new cars, especially cars in dealer stock. You can always trade it on a TT Cab in a couple of years when the newness wears off the TT Cab...
Honestly the performance envelope on even a normally aspirated 911 is well above most drivers ability. This really becomes evident on a road course where the Porsche is just a fantastic piece of machinery.
Good luck on you search.
Thank you all for the replies. Doug, appreciate the input . I will never forget that test drive. The salesman put the 911 through turns that would have had my firebird going end over end. I am not sure how Porsche does it. Kevin
it's related to $ in, performance out and great engineering.
i got tired of Porsche recently and got a mustang cobra and said look at this price/performance, this car rocks. kevin,
spend some bucks and move into God's car-land. you will never regret it/
and if you got the $$, just get a gt2 and skip the learning curve.
it is a bad problem to have, i mean making the choice. i have owned both, and the answer should be guided by the deal that you can get, and the performance that you want/need. there is no right answer.
