Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I was surprised when I got it, it was the yellow cap that reads 996.107.350.52, but the bag and receipt say 996.107.035.50!

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Ever notice how some 996's look like this:
and other's look like this:
My 2002 has the yellow cap and I thought the seal might be starting to go bad, so I ordered a new cap and seal, figuring the black one was updated. I was surprised when I got it, it was the yellow cap that reads 996.107.350.52, but the bag and receipt say 996.107.035.50! Dealer says it's not uncommon for Porsche to do that and use up existing stock. I asked Pelican, their response was the .50 cap was for 2005+. In the pictures I've seen online, it also looks like the black cap cars have the extra webbing in the filler tube, whereas the yellow cap cars don't have that. Anyone have any insight? I'm sure the yellow cap will work fine, but now I'm curious what the difference is. Thanks.
Can't answer your question but wow you have a lot of residue on the filler neck - usually indicative of short drives and engine not getting up to optimal operating temperature for long enough...
might want to take your car for extended runs to burn off the moisture collecting in your engine and remove this gunk...
Wow, thats way too much water in your oil. You better panic and check for intermix.
I think the caps changed with the newer models. Black with the little oil symbol. Even the new replacement oil filler tube is now stamped with a 997 part number.
