This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

22 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks to everyone on the advice. I flew down and picked it up on Saturday. It's a 1-owner '01 996 Cab w/ 23k miles (was 21k before the trip from Dallas to Philly). The only issues so far are some peeling around the shifter boot and curb rash on the wheels. I know the thread would be worthless w/o pictures, so here goes. Never posted pics before. http://forums.rennlist.com/upload/img_1893.jpg http://forums.rennlist.com/upload/img_1899_copy1.jpg http://forums.rennlist.com/upload/img_1908.jpg http://forums.rennlist.com/upload/img_1910_copy1.jpg http://forums.rennlist.com/upload/img_1935_copy2.jpg http://forums.rennlist.com/upload/img_1936_copy2.jpg

Nice autumn trees, nice house, nice garage and driveway. Very nice car. I bought a cherry 2001 too about a year ago. Your issues are no issue at all. Enjoy!

POST 4Original post

Very Very Nice... I LOVE the wheels!! and looks like a beauty... Since first mod of pumkin removal is done already, try some silver bulbs in those and the rears, it will remove the amber color, you wont be sorry! http://www.xenonmods.com/ Thanks for the pics!!! I bet the trip was like living your childhood dream !!! WTG!!

POST 7Original post

Beautiful car! Welcome to Rennlist. You can get rid of the tape deck holder and replace it with a cubby hole. It will be nicer to store things like wallets and cell phones during your drives.

POST 8Original post

what is below the tape cassette holder? (buttons and bars?) I have not seen those so I dont know.

POST 9Original post

Those buttons are for the upgraded sound system. Its like an equalizer.

+1 Money is better spent on exhaust mod.

POST 13Original post

Rule #1 for my car.... if it doesn't add power, performance, handling or improve looks don't mod it. Rule #2 Ask BEFORE making the change... (this is tough for me) Rule #3 If Redridge says its aweful... stay clear !!

POST 14Original post

Very nice car! The wheels look great on the Cab! Let's start to mod her! Short shifter (Eric at Bumper Plugs has a special right now), aluminum gauge rings, aluminum pedals, exhaust, suspension ... PS: If you'd like to lower her, I've some H&R springs for the MK1 Cab that I used for about 10k miles before I upgraded to a GT3 suspension. PM me if interested.

Or......you could actually just drive and enjoy it for a bit....get the feeling of it, then see which mods stir you. Very nice looking car. Hope you enjoy it and the only drama comes from great drives.

POST 17Original post

I have the same car a 02 love it. Wrap your woofer box in that insulating tape they sell at best buy,big improvement and get a wind stop if you do not already have one. Enjoy.

Thanks for all the compliments. Yep, at least the first 18 hours. Driving through the mountains of West Virginia at night in the snow had me second guessing my decision not to have it shipped. redridge - How'd you do that with the pics? That's what I was thinking. Can't tell you the last tape I owned. I'm not that impressed with it either, but I thought I just didn't know how to use it. I agree. I think I'm just going to drive it as much as possible before the winter sets in and start the mods in the spring. Don't mean to sound dumb, but where's the woofer box? I haven't found it. The wind stop came with the car, but I haven't tried it yet.

What he said ^. Another way to see the detail on how he did that is to click on the double quotation marks on the bottom right of the post he pot the pics in and you will see the complete "string." You can then back out of that post.

Sit in the passenger seat and its next to your left ankle,to bolts, one hard to find . It will make a big difference and is very easy to do.
