Speaking of the last wish - can anyone recommend a stereo place in NY - ideally Westchester - to do the work?

I got to test ride (I opted not to drive) the Meteor Gray 2009 C4S with PDK at Park Place this past Saturday.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I asked Santa for the Porsche flashlight for the cig lighter (I am 27 and my sweet old mother will still not admit the truth about Santa) and she wrote back saying "Santa declined your offer.
Ive got a few small items that others can get me; the larger items Ill get those for myself later.
Touch Up Paint
License Plate Frame
P-Car Martini Lid
Later
Lloyds Custom Mats
C4S Aluminum Door Sills
Alcantara Package
- Upper center console in CF
I found in Spain a man who is making good quality interior pieces in CF.
If he does them in real good quality, I'll order him others.
(I talked to Gradus Futura but they are too far from me)
Lots...but none that the wife will buy me as christmas gifts. Probably because I'm done with what I want to do other than really expensive stuff that's hard to justify. (GT3 RS uprights, control arms & PMNA toe links with bump adjustment)
New mats would be a nice touch though...even though I really don't "want" them.
Andy
Santa is dropping stuff off in my garage but I will need help...
so far we picked up:
Stock second set of wheels, 17" Turbo Twist
4 almost brand new Blizzak tires
MKII GT2 front OEM hood - Yellow - mint condition
MKII GT2 OEM rear wing - yellow - mint condition
02' GT2 cat/muffler and tips - 2k miles - like new
Working on:
a set of tires for next summer - slightly used - MS2's 235/45/18 and 295/30/18
set of locking / or stock wheel bolts to replace the ones I lost the key to
So...big question....How do I get an OEM mkII gt2 wing to sit on the back of my 99' C2?.... and that muffler would be great, but how? let the search for parts and ideas begin
New wheels, tires, row m030 suspension. All coming next week. I wish I could buy one of these cheap TT or GT3s but the problem is I know I won't be able to sell my own car for more than 18K apparently. (if that).
You bought a MKII GT2 kit for your MKI car? Will you be doing a headlight conversion? you should look at sideskirts too. Checkout FLY996's car for ideas.
I would also look into suspension upgrade. When were those parts replaced?
Geez, mine is completely stock, so where do I start. Fortunately I'm not a racer type, so my wishes are simple...
Full CF kit: dash, center console, doors...
Windscreen (really for the wife)...
One of those fancy double-DIN multimedia center with GPS, radio, CD, bluetooth and iPOd connection
All the really good stuff (aero kit, fancy wing and GT front and rear bumpers will have to come after the "newness" (wife's perspective) has worn off... or maybe a chip or three into the bumpers will help my case for early conversion???

Yea, I took mine out when I first got it and chipped the hell out of the front...now I just drive it and say, "one of these days I will fix that, but since its already chipped, might as well keep driving"
That's a big list!
Ed
PS... I forgot to add the "want" NEED of new suspension as mine is shot....
That's the risk... and even worse, because the wife is the final arbiter... She thinks it's "just a car" and considers it such... (yeah... like football is "just a game")... oh how it pains me to hear that! (both of them...)
It is a big list, but at least it's short...

I asked Santa for the Porsche flashlight for the cig lighter (I am 27 and my sweet old mother will still not admit the truth about Santa) and she wrote back saying "Santa declined your offer. $50 for a stupid flashlight just because it has the P logo on it is ridiculous and Santa's elves refused to manufacture this".
It looks like any and all mods for my P will have to be purchase seperately by me and not as gifts.
So at the end of the day, I am asking Santa's elves to manufacture the american dollar.
For my '02 C4S:
Fabspeed exhaust
Kenwood DNX8120 double-din head unit (GPS, iPod, XM, Bluetooth)
Speaking of the last wish - can anyone recommend a stereo place in NY - ideally Westchester - to do the work?
Nope, not a 996. If I am going to "dream" a little, I want a 2009 '09 997 C2S in Carrara White with Sea Blue Full Leather, plus:
Carrera Sport wheels - XRR
PASM Sport Suspension
Thicker 3-Spoke Steering Wheel in Smooth Leather
Power Comfort Seats
Supple Leather Front and Rear
Rear Center Console in Leather
Gear Lever Trim in Leather
Storage Compartment Lid with Model Logo
Heated Seats
Door Entry Guards in Stainless Steel
BOSE High End Sound Package
It's not like I have given it much thought.
However, I really think I can get that car..... in 2029
.
My car'll be lucky if I wash her this Christmas she's had it so good all year. If I do keep the car up north this winter and go to snows, I might have the summer wheels trued, and that'll make both of us happy in the spring!
Do the GT2 cats/mufflers work on a C2? I thought the cans were laid out right behind the bumper cover ad the cats on the sides (opposite of Carrera)
No way dude. You want a 2009 C4S with PDK. I got to test ride (I opted not to drive) the Meteor Gray 2009 C4S with PDK at Park Place this past Saturday. The salesguy showed us the race launch control. It felt like the lord almighty himself just picked us up and threw us!
Anyway, my list:
- Third radiator
- spacers (debating on 5mm)
- ssk
- exhaust (most likely Fabspeed)
- X73 suspension
But it's going to be a while before I start doing anything.
///Michael
Now that's a bummer, I didn't even notice that. I guess it's a good thing that I haven't ordered it yet!
Does the 996 Turbo come with a third radiator?
///Michael
Yup, this wont work for me...on this car....
BUT...........
I have trading materials!!!!!!!!
Looking for suspension ROW M030 - PSS9 or other interesting stuff someone has squirreled away in the garage...
There's only one thing I want for my P-car this X-Mas... a BUYER. Love the car, but the Turbo itch won't go away! If I had known car prices were going to drop like crazy after buying my car, I would've waited to get the TT. That's alright, if I can sell her for at least $34,000, I'll trade up to the Turbo, & if not, I'll just keep & enjoy her.
Checked my 996 Essential Companion Book. It states:
The TipS, option X50, option X51, GT2, and GT3 all came with the 3rd radiators from the factory.
I got my hands on the X51 install documentation from Porsche, and interestingly enough it specifically calls out not adding the 3rd radiator during the install for the C4S models.
So I don't know if its not simply needed, or if it doesn't attach like the other models do, but if it'll work, seems like it'd be a nice additional layer of cooling safety.
I talked to Jake a month or two ago. At that time he was quoting about $14,000 for a rebuilt engine, standard or big bore. Alot of money, unfortunately a little more than I can afford right now, but sounds like a big improvement over the stock 3.4. I have seen recent post on a DIY version and he is letting/training others to use his techniques. Maybe a winter project, right now the car is just sitting.
