Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Those fat tires saved my buddy some heartache when we ran through some sliding rocks that day though, while I limped back with a bend in the Porsche's wheel!

While the East course was being used for our racecar testing, we happened to slip out on the West course -- its pretty fast, but we started smelling brakes (and tire sidewalls) on the third lap.

same here -- we had one at a Buttonwillow test a year or so ago.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

....courtesy of Hertz for the past couple of days. Brand new out of the packet.
I do like the aggressive look of these cars and always wanted to drive one....
It really really really makes you appreciate what we have in our 996s.
This thing rolls like a yacht around corners....i thought i was going to tip over.
The 'power' takes a good second or so to spool up....weird.
I was glad to give it back
I've driven the shelby gt-h hertz rents and I personally didn't like it too much (especially didn't like the brakes!), but it sure does make a nice rumble when you put your foot down!
Pix? Of a stock Mustang? Who cares? Unless Hertz provided a free pole dancer as well...
Thanks for the post, spidie!
I have felt the same way as you when it comes to seeing something that looks cool, like the new Mustang, but... I never drove one because I was afraid to ruin the fantasy, as it was for you. Sat in it at the NAIAS (nee Detroit Autoshow) when it first came out. The ergonomics (does that really apply here?) were such that I knew I should never drive the car if I really wanted to enjoy it.
I had a similar experience a couple decades ago when a neighbor of mine bought a brand new Jaguar XK and couldn't wait for me (the Porsche guy) to drive it. Ugh, sure...
And it, too, was a tank.

Well lately some of those ebay Porsche's have made me think twice about a pole dancer pic... I mean to compare with the purple/gold combo or the mint green leather thing...
I imagine a 200 lb miget with buck teeth a bald spot on the head, mustache and a few long chin hairs to boot...all dressed up in a white leather cowboy outfit. Give that a spin around a stubby pole attached to a sit and spin on the floor....
CLASSIC, haven't seen in a while!
Hahaha little of both a little of both, but hey I LIKE big clumsy iron sometimes, at least the AMG! And I still really like the C6 vette I drove this summer
Yeah they cooked quick on Angeles Crest, can only imagine at or below sea level in the desert. Those fat tires saved my buddy some heartache when we ran through some sliding rocks that day though, while I limped back with a bend in the Porsche's wheel!
It is always frustrating to be behind one as they have to come to a near dead stop to make it around any kind of corner. It is even worse with an inexperienced teenage hot head behind the wheel (what is it with these guys when they see a Porsche anyway?!?).
I must however admit that I do think the sound nice with a good aftermarket exhaust.
Next time you are renting, see what it would cost to step up to a vette. I upgraded to one in Florida in September. It wasn't the original plan but it was a ton of fun! I don't think I would buy one, but 430hp is addictive.
or if you really wanna though the money down, a ferrari 430 in NYC or Orlando(or maybe Miami) 1800 gets u a long weekend.
you're lucky you didn't rely on the rear suspension in turns, its litteraly deadly in a mustang. i'd buy the roush mustangs though, 460hp and a really nice tight handling car.
Hertz has them in the "Fun Collection" at $200.00 per day. I had a booked a caddy with "Aeroplan" points. When I got to the car corral in Orlando my head was spinning around. Guy offered to upgrade me for an additional $65.00 per day, for four days. That got me a red convertible.
Worth every penny.
So what model did the OP have for a few days?
GT or V6 or what?
I had a friend from Germany here a few weeks ago and he told me rented a Mustang.
Then I saw it and realized he got stuck with the V6, ha!
The Mustang looks and sounds good, but still does without IRS?
I had a friend in Denver total his GT and spent time in the hospital, oops.
yeah but here's the kicker..for the price of a set of rims or a fancy exhaust for a porsche, you can swap out the ENTIRE rear end on a mustang and convert it to an IRS
At the 2007 SEMA show there were several swap-out IRS systems for the Mustang. One was a design winner. There was also a complete full length bolt-on sub-chassis with IRS and Indy-style A-arms.
Last time I was in Virginia I got a Mustang because I also wanted to drive one.. It was white convertible..
So aside from the A/C spitting condensation at me while the top was open due to the enormous amount of humidity y'all have. (GAWD!) I liked the car...
Also found out that if you leave it on the street in D.C after 4:00pm they put it up on the sidewalk for you... Nice town... (be sure to read ALL the words on those parking signs)
Couple months later I got a reciept from Avis for a ticket they paid for me while I was in DC having the car re-possitioned to the sidewalk
Took all the fun out of it... well not ALL the fun! Still like the looks and sound of one set up right, but would not buy one.... I have a P-car to take care of my extra money now!
It was a 'standard' upgrade - I rent often enough to get a guaranteed upgrade every time - and I never know in advance what it''s going to be. Company policy is a mid-grade 4-door whatever.
So I think it was a base model, nothing more.
BTW it had double cup holders in the center console with LED lights all the way around and a button to make it yellow/green/blue/red. Best feature of the car
If you really need to see this.......
