Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. Porsche changed the rim size and the diameter of the wheel, so 997 tires don't match in 996 Carrera models.
Leading evidence: 'Replace rim size and the diameter of the wheel' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace rim size and the diameter of the wheel' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. I ran PS2 295/30/18 on my 18" x 10" rear wheels and had no issues.

Porsche tested several brands and compounds and when they find them correct to match in a Porsche, then they grant them as a N spec.

But people have used these exact setup you mentioned w/o issues.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Will Michelin PS2 (N2 spec) 235/40/18 F and 295/30/18 R fit my C2 (stock not but maybe with ROW M030 or PSS9 set up) using sport classic II 7.5 wide 50 offset fronts and 10 wide 65 offset rears
Thanks I need this quick as I am working a great deal from a good person and dont want to waste his time but if they will work, I want (need) them
Thanks guys!

the error is within spec between the 2 wheels, however tire rack recommends 8" min for 235 and 10.5" min for 295. But people have used these exact setup you mentioned w/o issues. GL

For what I learned from an expert is that 996 Carrera Mk2 rear tires are oversized.
Although Porsche engineers fit them, 996 Carrera models work better with 265 rear (the same as MK1 models).
Don't forget that the stock wheels are 205/50 ZR17 front and 255/40 ZR 17 rear
18" rims were an optional, and engineers upgraded from 265 to 285 as aesthetical retrofit .
The rear stock tire size 255 is 30 mm thinner than the optional 18" tire (285)
It's a substantial change.
Even 996 C4S are too much oversized (295) as a aesthetical compromise to fit in turbolook wide body. I drove a C4S a lot times and It has less agility, seems to be too much heavy and apart the extra weight, the tires (don't forget they are in 11" rims) make it much heavy.
Think that 997 Carrera comes with 265 rear in 18" rims with a 345 HP!
If you want to ride the car and enjoying the sports attitudes, better to keep on with 285.
Porsche did't extend the N specs tires list for 285/40 R18 so we have no chance to choose an ultimate tech tire for our cars, if you don't go for a non N specs tire.
I purchased Bridgestone Potenza R050 A and I'm very happy with them. Similar to Michelin PS2 and a bit cheaper. They were included in the N specs list to fit in 997 sizes.
Porsche tested several brands and compounds and when they find them correct to match in a Porsche, then they grant them as a N spec. Porsche changed the rim size and the diameter of the wheel, so 997 tires don't match in 996 Carrera models.
That's why you can go with them in your car always in your size. A N specs tire is not made specially for Porsche. The only tires developed for a Porsche are Carrera GT tires.
It's important to get non specs tire with the same load rate as N specs, and reinforced sidewall.
The question is:
What do you want of you car?
Nice look? go to 19"
Sport ride, agility, good balance? 285
Red, you are correct in stating the TireRack recommends the minimum front wheel width for 235 is an 8" wile wheel, but I have to disagree with you on what the TireRack site says about the
minimum
wheel width for the rear tires.
The
recommended
size for a 295 tire is 10.5" but the wheel width range these tires will fit on is 10" to 11", per the TireRack link you posted. So the
minimum
wheel width is 10" not 10.5". I know this may be "splitting hairs" but Ed is looking for help.
I ran PS2 295/30/18 on my 18" x 10" rear wheels and had no issues. However, the 235 front tires will not fit on the Ed's 7.5" wide front wheels.
The proper sizes are 225 and 285 however you can get them on. If you are just using them as daily driving tires then you should be just fine as the decrease in performance by placing the WRONG size tire on a wheel wouldn't be as pronounced as it would say in a track setting.
