Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

18 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I recently bought a 996 C4S and was told it had full leather. What exactly does this mean? Part of the dash and door panels could be leather? Is the roof liner suede or faux?

POST 2Original post

I am also confused by this... Regardless of what the "right" answer is, sellers will always define it differently...

That's a great pic, J! Not so clear in the pics, but the center box lid and the trim behind it are also leather. The "Exclusive" all leather does not add much more. It adds leather to all those grey areas on the dash (ex. air vent), leather to the rest of the seats (side and back). Not worth it, IMHO. If you get the supple leather seats, then the seats are leather all around. The roofliner is alcantara. I tell everyone it's leather, too . What I hate: vinyl sun shades. Why, oh why, in this sea of leather did they put vinyl sun visors? To charge you $500.00 more for them, that's why. What I really like: leather dash. There is just something about it.

Yes It's in at home in my MacBook. I'll post it later I had included it in my 996 Buyer's guide (in Spanish) You can find it in All downloads (renntech.org) = guia996print or guia996hi-res files

POST 14Original post

That pic is a great find for me since I'm redoing most of the vinyl and replacinig with leather. The hardest thing for me to find used without go to a dealer? The passenger front airbag cover.

POST 15Original post

mmmmm intresting i thought Comfort Seat Backside and Sides were Leather too, but its just the Face?

POST 16Original post

Owning it myself, it is a long process when treating it every few months. A virtual sea of leather. It is a nice problem to have though
