Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

15 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'll Start... 1. Obviously remove spare, mats. How much will this save? 2. Battery Kit. Saves 30lbs Let's keep this to a car that needs to be driven regulary on the street and the cost reasonable.

POST 2Original post

Get some lighter 17s in for tracking. Replace exhaust with lighter ones. Start dieting. Keep 1/4 tank fuel. Remove rear seat backs and bottoms.

POST 4Original post

Remove spare and smaller battery is a great start also GT3 seats. Also, stay away from McDonald's

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Is it specifically GT3 Seats or would some nice Recaros give the same result?. 2600 is a little out of my price range for seats right now.

POST 7Original post

That's right. I perdsonally modded the "driver's ***" component by 22 lbs since December by going the to gym and eating better.

POST 8Original post

Congrats... 22lbs in 5 months is great. Keep it up.

POST 9Original post

throw your lady of the pas. side!!!! you save at least 100 lbs and money of course for taking her out....

POST 10Original post

Buy lots of mods, makes your wallet much lighter...

POST 11Original post

getting light is expensive - and totally depends on what you want to do with the car as some mod's may not be advisable for the street. * you can use any fixed seat in the 996 not just the GT-3 seats. Sparco, OMP, etc are options

POST 12Original post

don't forget the bypass pipes...no mufflers equals about a 55lb savings.

POST 13Original post

weight gains of at least 20 lbs are as follows: rear seats and seatbelts and mounting crap: 25 lbs. muffler bypass pipes: 55lbs cf hood: 20lbs or more depending on how much u wanna spend. GT3 or lighter seats: 50 lbs. roughly spare tire and tool kit: 40-50lbs. ---------- lighter battery: 30 lbs. lighter rims and brakes: depends on rim and brake choices but will be noticable. light flywheel: don't remember but wasn't it like 20% lighter rotating mass. the stuff above the line i've already done and the car is noticably faster and has more pull and is fairly cheap to do. rims brakes and flywheels start to get pricey but i'm sure would make also a noticable difference.

POST 14 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks DeAd-EyE, This is exactly the kind of info I was looking for. Do you know where I can get the muffler bypass pipes? Do you know if anyone has a sound clip? How much do the stock wheels weigh?

POST 15Original post

I purchased mine from Fabspeed. They have a sound clip on their website.
