Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I run the 5-40 from walmart (for turbo diesels) with great results in California.

I suspect I will be running it next time as I used PP 5-40 for my last oil change and I had the devil's time locating it.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Just went to autozone to pick up some Mobil One 0-40. (don'tstart!!
)
It's been out of stock for a few weeks. New package and new price $6.49.
Stock up if you can find the old priced stuff.
If you are located in the D.C. area, the 5w-40 will be fine specs wise. It doesn't get cold enough there to make a difference between the 5 and 0 weights. They don't have the 0-40 jugs at walmart around here either. I suspect I will be running it next time as I used PP 5-40 for my last oil change and I had the devil's time locating it.
Autozone a couple weeks ago had 5 quarts and a filter for $27. They did not have the filter of course so they reduced the cost by the value of the filter (~$9.00) which means I got 5 quarts for $18 at $3.60/qt
I bought enough for my next two changes
Might just be for that day that they dont have it (i hope). We have three Wallmarts here in our area and sometimes I have to go to the other ones when the other run out of what I'm looking for.
Kragen is consistently good for 0W40 - you can check availability online and pre-pay at a specific store - this sometimes gets you a discount as well!
Pepboys do have it, but can be out of stock, so call first
Where is 'here'?
Porsche wanted abour $8 per quart, and matched Kragen's price of $6.59. There is obviously a lot of room to negotiate with the dealer. These are San Diego numbers...
If you guys are into cheap oil, or just oil in general, I suggest you check out bobistheoilguy.com. There are lots of tribologists on there and otherwise generally knowledgable people. Lots of debate over oil viscosities and brands if you don't get enough of it here. Additionally, the rebates and deals section is very active. I have 24 quarts of various brands of oil sitting in my garage that cost me only tax as a result of rebates and sales posted on that forum in the past year. Specifically, the last Pennzoil Platinum 5w40 fillup for my car was essentially free except for the cost of the filter and my hard labor
