Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

28 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

OK - Let's plan for Saturday December 18th @ 7:45-8am at the proverbial Starbucks at Mansell & 400. I'll spread the word so you do the same. I know Kevin prefers smaller groups but it's nice to see everyone together - especially in the Holiday season! I'll see if Lizard will make enough of her infamous Texas Christmas Cookies for everybody

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

we head up 400 from Atlanta and spend a couple of hours carving up the twisties in the Mountains, well the Georgia Mountains

POST 4Original post

I am new to the Peachstate Region, could Janet and I follow along? Steve

POST 5Original post

how big/intimate is the group? i might be up for a morning run but i'm a little nervous if i'm the only new guy there

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

i was the "new guy" in August and now I'm setting the runs up if that tells you anything. looks like there will be about 7 of us who know each other from prior outings and there are usually 2-3 new people each run. I'm also inviting a group of Porsche owner's who do their own drives that we've never met and a couple of colleagues who own Pcars & m3's who've never been on a drive before - SO SHOW UP! lol - i'll give you some more exact details if you think you can make it take care frankj

POST 7Original post

I should be able to make it. Any word on spacers?

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

called again yesterday and spoke to Justin. i mentioned how i paid for these 3 mos ago and have yet to receive them even though Jay keeps telling me he'll ship them out that day each day I call. Jay also screwed up my last order and sent me a 1:43 model car after I paid for a 1:18. Justin said he'd ship them out today and expedite the normal shipping so I plan to give him a call if I don't have anything at my house by this Friday. sorry it's taken so long but this is getting borderline ridiculous - Brandywine has been not living up to their reputation as of recently i'll shoot you an email as soon as I get em in

POST 9Original post

Sounds good. How did your spacers turn out? Any pics?

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Spacers turned out perfect - just what I was looking for. I tried to capture the overall look on camera but never could get pics to turn out as good as it looks in person. They were a breeze to put on. Get lots of 2nd looks with them on but people can't quite put a finger on it. Some have asked me if I have the special 996 turbo look. I simply reply no but have no idea what they are talking about

POST 11Original post

I'd like to go. What time will we be back. You know that night is the P'state holiday party.

POST 12Original post

We usually finish about 12:00 unless lunch and beer is involved.

POST 13Original post

where will the group be driving? i've done my share of mountain driving up in north carolina around the "dragon" - will the roads we'll be taking be anything close to that?

POST 14Original post

Found this just in time. You might get more interest too if you post this on www.RennSouth.com as well. Thanks, Nazz

POST 15 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

thanks Nazz - great site! I posted over there. look forward to meeting you on the drive!

POST 17Original post

can you quickly list the highways that you take cause i can't make the drive, but will be driving up through your area a few days later and would love to find some good roads.. thanks and happy holidays

POST 18Original post

Are the air cooled guys allowed too? I know that I would like to go...looks like your newbie group is going to be bigger than you thought....

POST 19 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Cole - i always say the more the merrier........espcecially this time of year. i have a few friends from the air-cooled era who are going to try and make it. if you wouldn't mind spread the word over on the air-cooled section of the board and we'll see how big we can get this thing. Maybe we'll even put those SoCal guys to shame. KWC4S - i don't ever remember the names/numbers of the roads but I'm sure somebody here should know. worst case scenario, i'll pay attention this time and tell you the exact route. some of these roads are AMAZING - high banks and able to see 4 turns up ahead. i've got about 4 friends who have never been on one of these drives before so the newbie factor is going to be fierce! )

POST 20Original post

I'll cross-post to the 993 Board [if I can figure out how to do that ] ...thanks for arranging it!

POST 21 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

here is the address for the starbucks since there seems to be some confusion: it's attached to a Barnes & Noble Saturday December 18th, 7:30am Alpharetta Barnes & Noble 7660 North Point Parkway Suite 200 Alpharetta, Georgia 30022 [phone removed]

POST 22 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

andy - i've got your spacers! let's get 'em on before the drive

POST 23 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well it looks like the weather i going to cooperate! Sunny with high/low of 55/33. Sunday brings rain/wind/snow showers so let's enjoy the last day of bliss for a while! Look forward to meeting all the new faces

POST 24Original post

http://porsche.the-cow.org/gallery/ and click on the "Atlanta Mountain Drive" album... nearly 30 cars showed up! Got about 140 photos of the entire ordeal.. Definately should do this again =D

POST 25Original post

So cal guys are driving in 80 degree weather today!!! Had to throw that out there!

POST 26 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

thanks for taking so many pics - some really hot cars in the group, especially that black 996 with the personalized plates you two really got some good shots. now if we can only find the guy that was shooting all the video and get him to post it for us! look forward to doing it again.......

POST 27 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

KWC4S - we took GA 400 north then hung a left onto 19 heading towards Dahlonega. Stay on 19 through Dahlonega and continue on. You'll go through some GREAT big sweepers with two lanes to work with. Immediately after passing Vogel State Park on your left, turn left onto 180 which will take you to Suches. Great tight turns in this run. 180 dead-ends into 60. You can either turn left and take 60 back to Dahlonega then on to 400 or you can turn right and take 60 up to Morganton(sp?) This run is about 15 or so miles and it has everything - big sweepers, tight corners and plenty of straightaways that will let you burn some of that carbon build-up off of your car. Some got up to 120+ MPH on one stretch but had to get back to reasonable speeds for some hairpin corners. It was our first time to do this last part on 60 and it won't be our last! good to see everybody happy holidays all

THANKS!! for posting all those great photos. This was my first 'organized' Porsche drive of any kind. I just wanted thank everyone for such a good time. Brought my 13 year old son hoping he'd enjoy himself....all he could say was "whens the next one?!".... We both had a blast. Great roads, awesome cars, and friendly people. Couldn't have been better. See you all on the next Georgia drive!! msrc2
