I'd imagine that Photoshop was used but what's interesting is that the cars themselves were modified without altering the background and look at the shows under the car, they're perfect.
Leading evidence: 'Use but what's interesting is' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'last shot at' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Check em out' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

It was the last shot at that stop and when I saw the composition, I just new it was going to be a winner, glad you like it You now must get some suspension to drop er down where she belongs.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Alright... its time this thread came over here. There's been one on the 944/51/68 forum, one on the 993 forum, and one on the 964 forum...
Lets see those pics!!
Of course you realize that everyone thinks there investment in their love toy is the best looking, I know I do... :-)
That a look for yourselves.. In all fairness I believe nothing beats the CGT ! Nothing in the Porsche line up...even thought I recently feel in love with a 356C and I thinking of buying in the spring. Happy Holidays Amigo.
You guys just wanna see pictures don't you???
Well here are three beauties that were at the Toys for Tots Malibu fun run last Sunday. If you haven't seen the pics you should check em out on the 993 board in the Malibu Madness thread.
Hope ya like em.
Ahem... thank you kindly! But...I'm not a gent!
And geez...I hate to not vote for my own car...but, Kirby, right now, you have my vote...that is...until I get my new wing! There are so many beautiful cars posted so far!!
Beautiful!!! Great picture, love the angle. I cannot tell betweem the HRE and the SSR's in that wheel...they are seriously nice. I've been contemplating the SSR but with a black center and a polished lip. Beautiful car!
I vote for Robyn. Your pics are great. I especially like the fourth picture with the yellow building in the background. Do you have any more?
Here are a couple of pics of my cabriolet:
Scottish 4s, that car is beautifull. I rarely see Cobalt Blue in Toronto and have always wondered why it's not more popular. Exclusive tailoring? Do you have interior pictures?
Ally, gorgious mate. And very blue......course I am very partial to blue myself....and being an Everton man so your's gets my vote but Kirby follows very closely behind
Amazing how close Cobalt blue is to Zenith Blue. What is your paint code?
All
My summer residence will look much different now....no 996 (stored), no leaves and snow....lake freeze-up will be soon!
Can't wait for spring.
Best wishes to all
Ian
You all have beautiful cars.
Thanks for the compliment Kirby. From you it means something inasmuch as I also enjoy your photographic eye and have admired your shots in the past.
So... just for that here's another.
I wish that I could take credit for them but they're not mine. A friend of mine sent me the link to another forum where they were posted (and I can;t find that link now). I'd imagine that Photoshop was used but what's interesting is that the cars themselves were modified without altering the background and look at the shows under the car, they're perfect. Someone out there has a lot of talent and time on their hands. It makes me want to build some go-karts that look like them
Beautiful picture but the damn car sits too high. Maybe once spring rolls around, I'll take some decent pictures and ask you to "modify" them for printing? I love some of those distorted and colourized images.
Thanks Alan for posting a picture of my 40th Anniversary (thread #43), from last Sunday's Malibu run. That one, to me, is the nicest one out there (although everyone else gets my vote of course
). Sporty, refined, stealthy and mean, the best combo of all.
Jorge, that is how you spell your name, no? My pleasue, your car is so fresh and new and beautiful. It was the last shot at that stop and when I saw the composition, I just new it was going to be a winner, glad you like it You now must get some suspension to drop er down where she belongs. They photograph much nicer when lowered.
Alan,
Yes it is Jorge
... And certainly I wish I could drop her down more, but even as it sits today it barely makes it up & down my driveway in a skilled and careful manner. Maybe some custom hydraulics will do the job
.
Did someone say custom hydraulics?
Fast40th, I know you want to get this suspension. You need this suspension! Just kidding. You car looks great!
RUF Hydraulic Height Adjustable Suspension
In some situations the Porsche 996 cars do not have enough ground clearance and scratch the ground at yard entrances, underground car parks, petrol stations, kerbstones and other obstacles on the roads. With the hydraulic height adjustable RUF-suspension, the ground clearance can be put in a 50 millimeter higher position up to a maximum speed of 60 km/h by the touch of a button. A control lamp shows when the suspension is in its highest position. The suspension is lowered automatically into the lowest position at an adjustable speed between 30 and 60 km/h. The suspension is adjustable in many stages of stiffness. Thats why it is suitable for nearly all driving uses, including public roads and sporting events.
Hey Programmatore... you're onto something. I didn't know such a thing existed for the 996. That would fix a lot of my problems, and then Alan can take some more cool pictures too!!!
. Do you know how much $$$ are we looking at with this RUF system (parts+install)? Has anyone on this board done this?
Cheers
Alan,
LOL! The car can be "up on 3" all the time and not just on the track!
Fast40th,
I haven't inquired about pricing yet. I just saw it while surfing the
German RUF website
. You might want to check with the new
RUF Autocentre
in Dallas. Let me know what you find out.
well since everyone wanted pics of my car... here they are of my 99 cab.. as one can see, for a $95k car, buying it for $39,000 about a year ago from a dealer with a 100% perfect inspection wasn't that bad of a deal with 49k miles... but that's when the good deal ended...
not the best quality pictures, but it's all I have handy on my computer... took them in a parking garage about six months ago...
the interior has the full factory leather and wood treatment and every option available for 99, etc.. and quite a bit invested in additions not visibile, all silver upgrades, stereo, suspension, exhaust, etc... i've added... but don't let that fool you.. you all know the rest of what lies beneath the beast... and yes the car has a wing, a very subtle one.. that's why the spoiler looks larger than it's supposed to.. those big goofy ones on the cabs don't impress me too much...
and will these certain people quit telling me to sell it... as one can tell, i've put enough money into this car as it is... it's not a factory 996... i simply want to enjoy it, without paying out my nose to drive it... and i'm not buying another one to redo the entire process over again, just to have another engine blow up on me thank you very much...
Not sure if he is on this board, but he frequents 6speed... beautiful car, this takes my vote (I know this is for the most beautiful car here, but definitely deserves to be up here)
Beautiful cars...we are definitely amongst incredible car company here on this board.

And just so you know I'm not just fluff... (no comment from you kirby!
) Here's your action shot!
BonPorsche996 very nice. But hate to tell you this mate, you gotta spend some more money on it yet.
With that beautiful body kit, it looks mighty odd without a wing of some sort.
scouser,
..it does have a wing, you can't see it at that angle though.. it's a very subtle 3 piece wing spoiler as said in my post... as you can see the built in one extends about 2 inches more than normal due to it...
i didn't want a big honkin wing for the cab.. i'm not too fond of the flashiness of them on cabs, so i stuck to this one.... i like the smooth look throughout... i took the fuse out, so the wing stays up like that all the time.. looks much better that way.. (not like i am able to ever go past 70mph in the car anyways.. atleast without it exploding <g>)
Hi Bavarian,
I think we have the same color combo on our cabs: Ocean Blue Metallic exterior, Graphite Gray interior and Metropol Blue top. Could you do me a favor and post some close-up photos of your center console? I've been thinking about having mine painted to match the exterior. Did you get the console from Porsche Tequipment, have it painted somewhere, or did you buy an aftermarket painted console? Thanks!
Hi Eric (The Plug Guy),
You wouldn't happen to have pictures of a Graphite Gray interior car with a Ocean Blue color matched center console would you? I want to get a better idea of how it would look before I buy. Would you do a core exchange with the center console or do I have to send mine in for painting (and if so how long is the turnaround time)? Thanks!
Hi Programmatore,
Actually my cab is midnight blue metallic. I ordered a plain rear center console from Porsche, and took it to my local high end bodyshop to be primed and painted. Because they had recently done some work for me on my SL500 and other cars, they only charged me $50. The job is perfect. There are more pictures in the "garage" section of renntech.org
http://www.renntech.org/forums/index...ODE=12&CID=107
Bavarian,
Thanks for the quick reply. I never could tell Midnight Blue and Ocean Blue apart in pictures. There's another color called Lapis Blue that I can tell right away because it is a bit more purple than our cars.
Thanks for the pictures. I see you got the non-smoker's shelf too. It looks great!
Alan: I'm still drooling over your pics. You turn our winner cars into GRAND winners.
ca996: Love your car with those killer wheels.
Bavarian: Nice interior. What pedal kit did you choose?
Cheers.
Hi ca996. I know you were on our run Sunday. Who was driving the "yellow rocket" as pictured earlier in the thread. destaccado wanted to know what rims he was pushin. Maybe he or you can chime in and let him know what make they are.
Thanks,
Alan
Which "yellow rocket" the cab? Or the silver one you have posted on this page. If it's the one on this page that's Irwins car with full Techart set up and SSR GT3 wheels. If it's the yellow turbo car that's Rob's with HRE 540 R's. Unless your referring to Peters Yellow C4S?
Fast40th's asked:
"Bavarian: Nice interior. What pedal kit did you choose?"
I went the reasonable route with Rennline.com--it seemed that $180 bought a nice set, and I have no complaints.
Here I am with my Porsche on a desert run. It's always nice to get out and get some sun and strut myself for the ladies. She could use a few more ponies but I like her even though power comes from the front and it's water cooled.
Well, we now have a definate answer, thanks.
Oh, and thank you for your compliment, I really think that cross looks so nice against my chest hair. I would have preferred if the trader had a bigger one but what the heck... had to give up one one *** to get it. But she's still a Porsche cause it's *** powered. I keep her running lean like a greyhound... never know when I may want to track her.
Great photos everyone!!
Drag racing an open wheeler at TH. This car could carry a great deal of speed through the corners, but it was not very fast on the straights. In fact, I waived him by after turn 1 (CW run direction) and to use part throttle to get him by. He lost me after turn 14.
All by myself.
Dressing up my brother's driveway.
This is a great thread. Keep the photos coming!
Hy Guys, I must say there are very pretty porsches around here, and great photographers also!
I just want to share my baby with you guys:
happy holidays!
Kirby,
I bought a set of BBS RE's with MPSC's from Tire Rack. They're cheaper than the Carrera five spokes and just as light. I may sell them now that I have my SC for the track. They look lonely sitting in my garage!
