Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello, I am new to the 996 Board but have owned a Cayenne S since they came out. I am in the process of buying a 2003 C4 Cab in the next couple of days. I have read the threads on this board and am impressed with the knowledge, passion and overall helpfulness of the posts. I do have a question, next to the NAV system on the (almost) purchased CAB is a button with an exhaust logo on it. When I push it the sound of the exhaust system sound changes noticeably. What the heck is that thing and how does it work? I am taking the car for inspection tomorrow. Other than RMS and Waterppump leaks, are there any other issues that I should be looking for? Thanks and I look forward to adding the 996 board to my things to do everyday. Cay-Ute

POST 2Original post

I also have a 03 Cab. The switch that you are referring to is for the Sports Exhaust...very cool option to have.

POST 3Original post

That is called PSE the way that works is like this, the Mufflers have a by pass valve activated by that switch, when you turn it on it gets loud!! thats what i call party mode, when you sneaking in at 3 AM.....like i often do turn it off so it doesnt wake everyone in the area ...Its a great option and here in canada it was worth $ 3000.00...One way to descibe it is like a mullet...business in front and party out back......LOL
