Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I'd have an independent Porsche body shop inspect the repair work.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Here's the catch. The car was in a crash with passenger side door and rear quarter panel damage. There was no engine damage or intrusion into the engine compartment. The pictures I've seen of the repair show a perfect car. All door and quarter panel as well as all seems and rocker panel pictures are perfect.
The price is 20-25,000 under current price. I've had cars that I've crashed and could never tell if they were ever in a crash. This seems like a great deal.
What are your thoughts. Thanks.
Ken
It is a great price on damaged goods. You may have a difficult time reselling if that is a possibility in the future. You may do fine with it if it has been repaired to "as new" condition and plan on keeping it. Will it be under warranty? I'd have an independent Porsche body shop inspect the repair work.
I would go with Colm's advice but add an extra 1000 miles.
Besides, if you have 77k to spare then you probably can go the extra and buy a new one with warranty and resale value.
At a minimum, I'd have it inspected by the best body shop in your town. Make sure that put it on the frame alignment rack; one of the new ones with lasers and all that ... But, if you have $77K to spend, I have to wonder why you'd even consider such a car???
Thanks for the replies. The title does say "previous damage". It says this because the insurance company considered the car a loss. I'm going to contact a Porsche dealer and see if the warranty is still intact.
Ken
If the title says previous damage you will carry this baggage with the car forever. Considering the value of this car the damage had to have been severe for the insurance company to write-off the vehicle as a total loss. I would pass.
I would never ever pay $77K and be stuck with a salvage title. You may literally have to give the car away when you try to sell it. The only time I'd consider buying a car with a salvage title would be when I could get the car for around $10K and I'd drive the car until it fell apart. In other words I'd have no intention of ever trying to sell the car. It would be my winter car when I garaged my 911.
It will be a disaster every day you own the car. You'll question every squeak, rattle, vibration thru the car, CEL, fluid spot under the car- and all will occur. This is the right car for a movie destruction scene. In my opinion, if you want a project, the price is still 20K too high. Still, a customer for this car is born every minute. AS
I second everyone's cautious tone. What's the rationale in spending $77K for a "damaged" car? Even if you never resell it, the thought of owning a previously wrecked beauty will haunt you everyday.
Thanks for the replies. You have spoken and I'll follow your advice. To bad the car isn't here in town so I could drive it. It looks to be in perfect condition. Thanks for the advice.

My State Farm agent said that State Farm will not provide anything but Liability and comprehensive on a Salvage title vehicle. They will not provide collision.
If you are going to borrow the money no collision means no loan.
I could be wrong but I don't think I am..
Food for thought...
