Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

i have had my car in bodyshop and today they called me to have me inspect it. The accident i had last week, the door was opened past its opening treshold. Bodyshop had to replace door. Now when you just push it a little to close, before it is 8" from the door jam, it has resistance to close. if you force it to close, it will close. The other side (psngr side), is perfect, you give it a little push, and it shuts. This side even with new door does not close smoothly like the other side. Could it be that the door hinges were pushed a little towards the front and that is why it does not want to close?

POST 2Original post

Sounds like the body shop did a crap job. It should open close like just like it did before.

POST 3Original post

ugh....i feel your pain. i'm thinking this is why a lot of people made the suggestion to insist that their insurance company buy the car from you. it will just never be right......

POST 4Original post

The problem is not the door, it's the body shop. They screwed up the job, and need to start over. Make sure they are replacing most of the hinge points as well.
