Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I put my 99 up for sale and sold it much faster than expected. Time to look for the replacement. When I put the car up for sale I was strongly considering the 04 C4S cab. Now I am wondering if it makes sense to wait until I see the 997s or consider an 01 or 02 turbo. I realize they are all very different cars. Driving a C4 cab is no problem. No turobs close to me so I have not been able to check out that option and of course no 997s yet. Just curious what you would do if you were me.

POST 3Original post

OH996, was yours a coupe? if so, could you give me the mileage and at least a range at which you sold it? not knowing your needs (basically the driver of this decision), it makes it a bit more difficult to opine. but assuming that you drove the car often, weather in your area is mild, and model year of car is not a problem, i would choose -993 c4s -996 c4s -996 c4s cab turbos scare me best of luck to you

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

oalvarez, My car was a cab with roughly 33,000 miles. SOld it for ~50K. I don't drive it in the winter. Thanks for the reply.

POST 5Original post

I am not into cab's, so my opinions are skewed towards coupes. This will be my preferences, 1) 996 TT (with factory warranty) 2) 997S (pending a test drive and possibly wait for any initial problems to be ironed out, but then that's an awfully long time to be without a poker). 2) (yep, a tie) 996 C4S (I may be biased as i own one of these babies)

POST 6Original post

Why did you sell the '99? Needing something different? If so, wait and check out the 997's ( I personally don't like them in pictures, in person may be different). Or, go for the Turbo if you want some thrills. I'd say stick with the newer models - at least that's what I'd do - and you asked.
