Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.
Discussions that report identifying a cause

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'crazy drivers' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'crazy drivers' (1 discussions; 1 report identifying it and 0 suggest it). No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hello all
Have to take another trip to the Midwest from Vegas in May. Usually I fly and get a rental car.
Just had the idea that I might like to drive it. This would give me a chance to drive through the Rocky Mountains and also through some of the canyon areas in Utah.
Total roundtrip is about 3500 miles.
What is the longest trip you have driven in your Porsche?
I am taking it into mechanic to get it checked out before I leave, anything I should have checked? There are no problems at this time, just want to be on the safe side.
2,200 miles during the first 48 hours of ownership. Best road trip I have ever had. Houston to SF Bay Area.
That was in 2004 and the car is a 99 and only had 24,000 miles on it when I picked it up. I was a bit sad to put so many miles on it after it had relatively low miles prior. But what the hell, its not an investment, I BOUGHT IT TO DRIVE IT!

Cape Cod to Washington,Va about 900 miles rnd trip. best fun, no problems, except traffic on rt 95 in Conn.Would do it again tomorrow. You should drive your car or you will miss it.
I've driven from Washington, D.C. to Myrtle Beach, SC and back twice. The 996 Cab gets excellent highway mileage -- I filled up before I left D.C. and again at Myrtle beach -- roundtrip and cruising around the beach in 2 tanks of gas.
I am trying to get on a 6-month project in our L.A. office. If I do that then I will drive my 996 cross-country.
~2500 miles touring the castles of europe, then from POE, east coast, to Seattle, summer, 2001.
Daytona to Seattle, 2005, left Daytona early February, arrived Seattle mid-July.
Just picked up my 02 C4s yesterday. Might take it to the next town today and get a cup of coffee.
If you notice a guy sitting at the window of the local Starbucks gazing at a mint P-car, drooling and occasionally pinching himself, that's me. Will take it to Hershey next weekend but only if the weather is clear. The wife thinks I'm nuts and this time she's probably right.
Last year I drove a 2000 mile round trip, from the UK to Pisa in Italy.
Driving my 996 C2 through the french/italian alps, then down the italian coast was amazing.
I just got back from a round trip from Prague to Warsaw, I guess 1500 kms. I find the trip computer cool for keeping up your average speed
I also make a point of letting no one pass me, if they do it is war
This time some ******* was just going too fast in the wet ( about 190km/h), so I decided it was better to let him go than be that stupid as I was aquaplaning.
We drove to Parade in Hershey Pa from Denver last year. Then went on to NJ and then back to Denver, probably 4 kmiles with all the side trips. For two people with resaonable lugage a 996 is very comfortable. Main problem is the crazy drivers on the road. This year we are going to the Formula One Race in Montreal and then on to NJ and back to Denver.
Drove from Cleveland to VIR for a DE, then on to Hilton Head for a week, then back. About 1800 miles round trip.
So long as the car has had regular maintenance, there should be no issues, and no special prep needed for the car for the long haul. Fair warning: You will be challenged by all types of cars, trucks, pickups, motorbikes, what-have-you. Bring a healthy amount of patience.
Boston to Santa Cruz, CA. Winter. Southern route. 5500 miles. 3 days. 1 cop stop, no ticket!! I felt like one of the chosen few who get to do a drive like that.
San Antonio, TX to Newburgh, NY. By the time I got back I forked $950 for some rubber. Made a note to self: Next time I do this, I'll have two ps2's waiting at home...
